@catroberts40023 жыл бұрын
@@notreallybarackobama I played the free demo and it seemed pretty informative. Always work on the most critical patients first. I have personally never heard of a warning triangle before this but also I skipped drivers ed cause there's a loophole in my state that got me around it so maybe that's why. But road flares are helpful. I feel like the chest compressions were timed weird but that's just nitpicking and could have just been cause I was clicking so it seemed weird. The biggest issue I saw was that in the one scenario the demo had we were doing cpr on a patient with a giant cut on his arm which is NOT helpful. You wanna stop any bleeds before trying to move the blood around with chest compressions because otherwise you could literally just be pumping more blood to that wound. But again, I'm being nitpicky. I'd say for the normal every day human this game is accurate enough and you should also have some sort of warning signal like flares or the triangle, and a good first aid kit in your car at the very least. Something more than the $20 kit you can get from cvs cause that won't help if you god forbid roll up on something like that. And a fire extinguisher would be good to have too as long as it's stored well and not rolling around freely. Sorry for the novel.

If anyone sees this: Tips for finding unconscious person: Check if the person is still alive: -first speak, then touch (for example shoulder), then look if the person is still breathing when checking for breath, overstretch the neck by tilting the head back, place your ear near the mouth and nose, look towards the chest: chest movement and breath=alive, only one of the two check again or check for pulse. Breathing: -> Yes, put patient in recovery position, check vitals reguarly , call ambulance -> No, begin CPR, order someone to call ambulance: 1. lay the person flat on the back on the ground, avoid soft surfaces 2. Begin CPR by pushing on the chest where the heart is with force. Its not unsusual to break a or multible ribs. 30 pushes, at a speed of about 100 to 120 per minute (help: the beat of the song "staying alive" is perfect) Place the palm of your hand on the chest, place the other hand on top, push at least 2inches (~5cm) in 3. Take a good breath and blow the air into the persons mouth or nose (you can also use something like an oxygen mask, if you have one at hand, to reduce risk of infection), while again overstretching their head, clearing their airways that way, and shutting off the other point of exit (pinch close the nose when breathing through mouth, vise versa) (2x) then: repeat steps 2 and 3 until ambulance arrives, dont be afraid to ask someone if they can relieve you if you get tired out or feel dizzy Please like so that more people can save lives (!!!EDIT: please bear in mind that you shouldn't just move around the neck or body of a person that just was in an accident, if they're traumas or a broken spine you could kill or paralyze the person you are trying to help!!!)

My only concern is that because this is a car accident, the likelihood of either a broken neck or other severe neck injury is somewhat high, so care must be taken in moving them, so if possible avoid the twisting or turning as to avoid aggravation of the injury. @Kyandi Paper which is exactly why the game says "Do not remove victims from their car unless you absolutely need to" at 20:23. “What if you’re doing CPR on a dead person?" You only carry out CPR on people who are not breathing and lack a pulse, i.e. by medical definition dead. If you don't feel a pulse or breathing, you start CPR, regardless of whether or not you think it's too late. You keep it up until either help arrives to relieve you or you tire out.

This game is also outdated, there's no need to make artificial breathing anymore, professionals have decided that while you do the CPR enough air gets in by the compressions so no breathing needed

The problem with the game, that if you have 2 people, you prioritize the less wounded and stabilize it before you do the CPR, cause if you start the CPR first, the less wounded could die, and now you have 2 dead people...... So first you should stabilize the less wounded, and than start the CPR

It is possible to still be conscious and have a broken neck, as long as the spinal cord inside is still intact. This is why it's so important to try to keep an accident victim's neck and head as still as possible, regardless if their awake or not: if the vertebra are broken, but the cord is fine, it's possible to accidently snap the spinal cord and kill them without noticing. That's one thing I don't understand about this game (and most medical-themed entertainment) how does the main character know someone's neck is broken just by looking at it? Not even real paramedics can tell at a glance, that's why they're so cautious with every potential neck injury they come across.

I actually really like what this game teaches to be honest. To take precaution with vehicles, understand that they're not safe, and the consequences of any car accident has on everyone, not just the individuals within the accident itself. And all of it is taught in an intuitive way. Very well done. Edit: As mentioned in a reply, don't use this game or a random article on the internet as basis for first aid. Get it from a legitimate source (I.e. basic training courses are taught everywhere) if you really want to help someone.

Someone is going to try the things they "learned" in this game and kill someone. Like shaking a victim as a first responder, you have no idea if they have spin or neck injury and shaking them if they do could kill them, as could grabbing their head and lifting it when there is a strong possibility of a spine or neck injury like there would be in a car crash scenario, you would have to try other things like looking to see if the chest is rising and falling, or getting close enough to hear. Also if someone has been impaled by something, the VERY LAST THING you should do is PUT PRESSURE ON IT!!!!! In the field the best you can or SHOULD do with an implement is to get some kind of clean cloth and tape if you have it and then to secure it however possible to keep it stable, if you put PRESSURE on a stick that is just shy of someone's lung....... I just cant with this 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂

@ZatannaZataraGrayson3 жыл бұрын
Mark: What if I'm doing CPR on a dead guy? They aren't dead until the medical examiner, doctor, or coroner pronounces them dead with cause and manner of death. Assume the person is alive unless they're confirmed otherwise; it not only could save the person but also helps keep you mentally in check if you're not defeatist when you arrive on the scene. There's a limited window of time you have to restart the heart's rhythm before the person suffers permanent brain damage and potentially death. You perform CPR until the person has steady breathing and/or steady pulse or EMS arrives and takes over. It would be nice if the game taught you how an AED is set up and how it works (it sends an electrical pulse to the heart to help regulate rhythm, though you'd have to establish a pulse first, an AED can't help someone with no heartbeat) but then again not everyone has one of those in the back of their vehicle and publically available AEDs are usually in more urban areas, not in countrysides as seen so far in this game.

Where i'm from when you are getting your driving licence beside the driving part there is a theory part ( many hours and two test at the end ) with situations/scenarios and stuff like this. I'm surprised that a lot of people have no idea of these basic stuff ( which is very sad and unfortunate ), you shouldn't have to be a medic to know them.
@Demonrifts3 жыл бұрын
Are you a first responder? I've always heard that the worst thing you can do is move somebody out of a vehicle if there isn't an extreme need (fire or so on), as that can make injuries worse if they have fractures/breaks.
@bloodstormwolf95123 жыл бұрын
@@Demonrifts Well, this was also in what looked like a pretty bad snowstorm since visibility was pretty low. The hyperthermia may have been worse then the injuries. Although, don't they make medical blankets for scenarios like that?
@vetsrus313 жыл бұрын
@@daria8950 true. However a majority of people will react and not think in these situations. I grew up next to a road notorious for fatal accidents. Been helping out on them since i was 12. Most people panic and overrides knowledge. Even with tests and the like it doesn't compare to the actual issues you will encounter when put in the situation. Kind of like how when a kid falls in the water, 80% will stand around, scream, and panic. And the other 10% will actually do something. Only 5% of the 10% will actually be useful and avoid possible harm.

I know this is three years ago, but I'm in school for EMT, and CPR is technically performed on a "dead" person. The criteria to initiate CPR is unresponsive (they don't respond to taps, noise, or pain), apneic (they are not breathing [ei no breaths are heard and no chest rises are visible]), and pulseless (for an unresponsive adult, the carotid pulse [the one on the neck] is generally palpated [felt]. For a child, the brachial [the one in the elbow crease] is palpated. People may not realize it, but the very act of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is quite literally keeping the patient's heart beating to keep the blood flowing. That's why it is important to compress at least 2 in. and to let the chest completely recoil, it is *literally* manual heart pumping. The accurate rate is 100-120 beats per minute for an adult, but slightly faster or slightly slower can be okay (Slightly slower/faster CPR is better than no CPR!) {Edit: If CPR is done properly, it will sound like you are breaking their ribs. This is necessary, so don't be alarmed!! I was taught that it isn't the actual ribs breaking, but rather the cartilage that holds the ribs to the sternum!} In the past, people have also done mouth to mouth as apart of CPR, but this isn't proven to help, as far as I know. So if you come across someone who seems to be unconscious, call for an ambulance (duh!) but don't be worried about rescue breaths. Compression-only CPR is good until the medics arrive!! Also, if an AED (automated external defibrillator) is nearby, get it/have someone get it! An AED will be able to detect a dysrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) and may be able to shock it back into a normal rhythm. An AED is extremely easy to use, and generally will have vocal instructions. Make sure not to touch the patient AT ALL when it's accessing or shocking, and don't be alarmed if the AED doesn't advise a shock. Only certain dysrhythmias are shockable, so if the AED says no shock advised, just continue with CPR. Some AEDs even have a rhythm for CPR when its not accessing/shocking!
