I worked in the shop at a Love's Travel Center. They are real stickers on safety so we caged all tires and preset pressure gauges and walked a specified distance away. They also have cameras all over their shops to prevent theft and make sure all employees adhere to safety protocols. At around 50 pounds in, the semi tire (customer provided) blew. It redirected every camera in the shop and felt like I was kicked backwards. Can't fathom what it would have felt like if it had reached its full 100 lb psi running pressure. It ruined the safety cage. Had it not been for the cage, it could have ruined someone's day.

Heard a tyre blow at a tyre shop here in the UK. EVERYONE came out of the offices and all the tyre shop staff were looking around to see what actually happened. In the UK they can recut the tread when the rear tyre wears down to a certain level, extending the life. Watched one guy do it with the tyre still inflated, I declined to stop and chat whilst he did the job. Red hot cutter slicing rubber to create a new tread pattern with 90PSI+ scary.

As a Professional Driver myself, it’s for this exact reason that I slow down when there is a car taking forever to pass me, or speed up if I am in my personal car. I’m pretty sure 100-110 psi is enough to rupture ear drums at that range.

I had a 2.2litre VVTEC automatic Honda Accord Aerodeck(wagon) many years ago. The auto was playing up on that. So I emptied the fluid, changed the filter, and it still did it. When I asked at the Honda specialist, not a dealer, they told me to use Hondas own auto transmission fluid, as the gearbox was desgned, built, tested, and set up for their own fluid which was of a special viscosity, and performance level. I swapped the filter, and fluid for Honda OEM, and I never had the problem again... Just something to be aware of Ray. As is the danger level of truck tires in the summer hot weather. Normal static pressure is 100-120psi. But when running in hot weather on hot tarmac(asphalt), it can rise to 150-160psi, which if the tyre let's go, is BIG VERY BIG explosion. Be careful guys 😊

I agree with using the OEM fluid for transmissions. I had a 2008 Fit and has the fluid changed by a local mechanic while he was doing oil and tires at about 80,000 miles. The trans shifted really harsh after the change. He talked with the Honda dealer in town and they said only use OEM fluid. We flushed it with Honda-matic fluid and it ran another 95k that I had the car and every now and then I still see it on the road today.

Same when inflating tyres after driving. You should put about 10% more in a warm tyre, as that will equate to the cold pressure.

I'll parrot the other replies...use OEM fluid on Honda transmissions. I have zero idea what the difference is, but Hondas just don't seem to like aftermarket transmission fluid.

Do dealer shops use Honda products? Just curious bc I usually go to the dealer for my oil changes, because I feel like I'm bothering my local small shop guy for such a small job like a oil change. Especially where he does offer Uber drop off service that I know he pays for at $15 one way (I paid the way back to get my car). Where the Honda dealer is right around the corner and they drop off and pick up with their own vehicle and people. I feel like an oil change is probably more of a bother unless I have other things that need fixing.

@@Em22-wtf dealerships have to use OEM products like parts, oil and trans fluid, unless the customer asks for an alternative. Most OEM oil is simply one of the main line oils. VW, for instance, uses only Castrol. This is part of the agreement with the manufacturer. The manufacturer tells them "you sell our cars and are a warranty center, you do it our way."

On most Hondas you check them at operating temperature with the engine off not running like a regular automatic transmission most people don't know that but I love your videos

About 20 years ago I was traveling through Chicago on one of the expressways on my motorcycle and a semi about 50 yards in front of me blew a tire. Just as you described, the tire exploded and disintegrated. One of the pieces flew back and hit me in the helmet almost knocking me off the bike. If that had happened I would’ve been a goner as the typical crowded expressway traffic was moving along at about 70 mph. I stopped as soon as I was able to and my white Bell helmet was completely black all along the side where it had been hit by the chunk of tire. One thought that stayed with me for the remainder of my riding days was what if I or anybody for that matter had been alongside the truck when the tire blew. From that day forward whenever I passed a semi on the road I got by it as quickly as possible with my stomach in my throat.

Back in the 90's, a guy I used to ride with got killed when a truck ran over an "alligator skin" (retread that came off a truck) and kicked it up right in front of him. It hit him in the chest and broke most of his ribs. He bled out internally before they could get him to the hospital.

😃 Honda Fit's are amazing and truly an unsung hero! 🧐A few months ago I was looking for some cheap piece of junk that got good gas mileage that I could drive for a few months while spending time in another state. So I bought a MT 07 Honda Fit Sport and I was blown away at what an amazing car it is!!! I'm actually going to probably keep it as a daily driver and drive it until the wheels fall off. It handles even better than my WRX. I can see why people are racing them, it corners like a Formula One car and Honda definitely knows how to build a Manual Transmission! 🤣 If only it had a little more power it would be insanely desirable. But with a MT and high revving VTEC engine, it sometimes feels fast, especially around corners 🧐

I grew up working on cars Ray, watching you work is awaesome. My dad had his own repair shop (mostly bodywork accident repair) he took me out of school ten years old and that was my first employment. That was over fifty years ago when cars were very basic things, no ECU, power windows were rare, fuel injection even more rare... there was not even OBD1. So, every video you make i watch with great interest. Now at 63 years old and currently homeless living in a MB SLK300 with my companion parrot Geordie (blue crested amazon) you are my primary entertainment. In most of europe if you rear end someone you are at fault no matter what. The reasoning is there should always be a safe driving distance between you and the car infront. It doesn't matter if the car infront stopped for a kid running into the road or if the car infront stopped for a dumb turn. If you didn't have the time to react or stop to not cause a collision then you are at fault. We got strict laws that says you should not follow cars with so little distance that you won't be able to stop if they stop.

Twenty some years ago I had been unloading a food grade tanker in Phoenix, AZ. That had taken about an hour and a half. so tires were cold. Winter, so not hot. I got back on the freeway - got a couple of miles and the left rear outside tire on the trailer exploded. I could see bits of tire and whatnot flying in the air behind me in the mirror but there had been no cars close to me so no cars were hit. The recap - what was left of it - had wrapped itself around the steel safety bumper and it was twisted like a pretzel. The number plate was never found and after that the company who owned the tanker never again put recaps on their tankers. Once you've heard a truck/trailer tire explode you never forget it. The power is incredible.

My last assignment before retiring from Goodyears research division was low speed uniformity testing of all forms of radial truck, bus, Rt,military 6x6 tires. The first thing we did before mounting a used tire on a rim was running your hand around the inner mid sidewall to check for an impending zipper failure. This was to look for steel cords sticking out from the inside. When a steel cord radial tire is running under inflated at high speeds the multi stranded steel cords flex so much they start to breakdown. This can result in the cords failing like a zipper opening. The larger the tire, the more volume of air in side at 100 to 150 psi is like a rolling bomb. This is one of the reasons I always wait to pass a semi until the side is clear of other traffic. I have only seen zipper failures on video and as you noted can do tremendous damage.

You learn something new every day on this channel. My beater/DD is a 2009 Honda Fit with the elusive, highly sought after, 5 speed manual. Lol. It’s also a low mileage model with “only” 178K miles. I believe the car can pull down a sub 9 second zero to sixty if I have my driving gloves on and two cups of coffee in my system. But I digress, my point is that I had no idea about the “service” hood notch. Thank you Ray. In other news, the car recently threw an engine code and using investigative techniques outlined by professor Ray, I was able to discover that a rat had chewed off the wires to one of the connectors to the evap canister. Since I’m not a soldering guru, I’ll have the shop do it.

I’d have to agree with a few other to use only the Honda OEM fluids, same with Toyota. They each make great transmissions and the OEM fluids work great. I don’t work for either but have seen each make with multiple 100k miles still motoring along on OEM transmissions and fluids.

I totally agree with your statement. Honda’s are super picky about what oil is in the trans. If it didn’t have issues before. It will on the next 50k miles. Love the channel and not knocking the service or the repairs! Hondas are just picking about trans fluid.

Oil, transmission fluid, diesel fuel and gasoline are all just about the same. As long as the fluid meets the certification specs basically there is NO difference. Out of 15 or so different engine oils that you can buy in the United States there are only three producers of engine oil. When fuel trucks pull up to the gasoline distribution terminal, the gas is removed from the storage tanks put in the trucks and delivered to multiple different station names such as Shell, BP, etc. The gasoline that you were paying four dollars a gallon for now is no different than the gasoline under the Trump for two dollars. A factual example is, I can take my Subaru to a dealership have it serviced and they will use one brand of oil. Drive 300 miles away and have it serviced at a different Subaru dealership this dealership will use a different brand of oil.

Great video Ray. I thought that fluid was pretty dark. I was waiting to see if you'd check to see if it smelled burnt. I've got an 09 Grand Cherokee with the Mercedes NAG1 in it. I started to get a grinding out of it when driving. I was puzzled by it and was starting to panic that my trans was on it's way out. Checked the owners manual and realized i was over the fluid change interval. I immediately went and had the fluid changed and voila! No more problems. Amazing what magic fresh fluid can perform! And thanks for the story about the tires. I use my cruise control all the time and just overtake a truck on the highway. From now on, I'm going to pass them much more quickly.

Many years ago in another life, like 1986, I was driving a brand-new ambulance back to Idaho from the Wheeled Coach plant. I was northbound on I75 right next to a semi when one of the tires on the trailer along with the rim came off. It rolled a bit and then bounced across the freeway high enough that it landed right in the middle of a camp trailer going the opposite direction. That camper exploded like a bomb had hit it. One of more memorable trips around the country. Kind of scary too. Keep up the good work Ray.

BTW... your story about the exploding tire... I've got one for ya. Years ago I worked for a moving company, one day we had a fall out with a certain employee because of his behavior, dude was rude, cussed at a customer that day and just didn't care (anymore). At first he started pushing people but then he ran out afraid of being punched in the face by a couple of us (and yes, it came very close to that)... in his anger he tried to slash a tire on one of the trucks, that tire exploded and the knife he used ended up quite deep in his own thigh... and broke the windows on the car parked next to it. So yes... the pressure from a truck tire is NOT to be messed with.

My wife has had 5 Honda Fits since they first came out (they are called Honda Jazz in Australia). The latest one we had was really nice - sunroof, leather interior, the works. It also took an insane amount of stuff. When we moved back to the US, we went to best buy, and bought the three TVs we wanted, including a 42" monster. The guy hauling the cart out said "no way is this gonna fit". And being a Honda Fit, it fit all three TVs no problems at all. Hatchbacks are amazing. I don't know why the US is not in love with them. So much more practical than sedans in every single way.

My 2010 Civic has now 270K miles. The manual calls for transmission service every 50K miles. I had all services performed religiously. At around 80K miles started to shift funny. Trans fluid look horrible and flushing the transmission and putting new Honda fluid solved the problem. Since then I do a trans service every 30K miles. I am convinced dealership never did the 50K transmission service as they claimed and I was charged for

@@jrand2631 The local Mazda dealership here in the UK charged me for changing the cabin air filter at least twice but on a car that had only been serviced by them according to the records, but when I changed it myself there was a pattern/aftermarket part with a date code from before I bought the car. Their response was to deflect then offer me a free filter. As a result of this I changed the gearbox oil that they claimed to have changed.

I have a couple friends that were dedicated Honda mechanics now off with their own shops. They both independantly swear by 2 specific Honda things that must not be substituted - Oil Filters and Trans Fluid. They both swear by Honda oil filters, they are other great filters on the market that may filter more - and that changes the flow rate from the oil pump. They also both swear you have to use Honda ATF fluid on Honda trans, useing something else will reduce the life of the seals.

I've changed many Honda automatic transmission fluids ... and it's not super bad. When it's bad, the fluid is almost pitch black. The one in this video is still fairly red and clear-ish.

I had thought the fluid looked more red than brown as it came out. But on the 'filter' paper, it looked brown and dirty. Another good call by Ray. Wish my car shifted so smoothly.

Could depend on what they were accustomed to. Some fluids are very light in colour and some are darker. Depends on the smell of the fluid also. Generally compare it to the new fluid you would replace it with. The darker it is by comparison the more it needs changing.

Lol its got red tint which is good but the fact that it was turning dark means it was burning either from an issue with the transmission or just beyond overdue for service with normal wear and tear - you want to change it before its burnt black and while its turning bink/losing its red tint, you dont wanna wait til theres no red tint left at all, but you also want to try and filter out anything when you drain the old fluid because if theres a lot of metal odds are the damage is done and if the car still wont shift right you may want to find a way to put any of that metal back in the new transmission fluid due to the way autos rely on fluid pressure and friction material to shift

Story on the tire blow out reminded me of one at a tractor trailer company I used to work at.... Guy(customer) got pissed over something day crew did/charged for, and evidently came back after night shift (my shift at the time) left to slash trailer tires. Only got 1.... That first one broke his blade and shot it back at him. Day shift found him, I only seen the security tape. We figured (based on the tape) the blast broke the blade, obviously as it was in his neck, but that the blast also knocked him out cold, as he never moved after it blew. Had an all new respect for those tires from that day on......

Speaking of blasts; I was working for the gas company, and was sent to relight the pilot light on a customer's water heater, which was in the corner of her kitchen. Soon as I entered the kitchen, I could see some disaster had taken place. Her pressure cooker had exploded, and the blast had blown out the pilot light. Examining the lid, I could tell it wasn't properly latched into place. The blast also caved in the top of her range.

I can definitely say theres 3 things i dont mess around with when working on stuff: springs, hydraulics/pneumatics, and tires. Im a licensed aircraft mechanic, and my professors put the fear of god about tires into us during classes. Ive got an entire book just on tires. Always use safety cages on first fill to full pressure… as Ray said, big tire at full pressure going boom can do a lot of damage. If youre unfortunate enough to be right next to it when it blows, youre gonna have a very bad day, probably the last one youll ever have. Tires are no joke.

In my experience, and was even told this either by police or insurance adjuster, it doesn't matter how abruptly a car in front of you stops, if you could not stop in time to avoid colliding, you were too close.

That is the law everywhere I've been licensed. There is no fixed distance or time since either varies with road conditions. You are required to assume the car ahead can stop instantly.

Fun, small scale story, I was in the drive-thru of my dealer ship putting air in a hand dolley tire so we could get rid of this old vending machine that had been broken for about a year. And I squeeze the air gun to put air in it, not realizing that this tiny tire fills up real fast, and our shop air system is set to about 140-150PSI. When it blew it was so loud and echoed so much in the room that I couldn’t hear anything but ringing for about 10 minutes. My manager is still poking fun at me for it and it was months ago

There's so many reasons not to loiter on either side of a big rig. 40 tons goes into 2 tons only once, and there ain't $#!+ Left over. As an apprentice mechanic back in the day, I worked at a shipping terminal. The yard trucks use the regular large truck tires. The difference was those rims were split. The outer ring was separate from the rim itself. The bead would set against the ring. The other side of the rim was just as any other rim with the bead set along the outer edge of the rim. When you filled the tire with air we would spray carb cleaner or ether inside and then light it. The gas would explode the tire onto the bead set. Then you would fill with air as normal. Doing this on the side of the road without a tire cage could get you killed if you didn’t pay attention. If you didn’t put the ring back on correctly as the pressure would increase the ring could fly off and the tire could blow off the rim as well. It’s pretty scary working with a split rim. One safety measure that we would do is to inflate the tire we would put the wheel under the trailer or the rig if no trailer. With the man teaching me how to do roadside tire replacement One did blow and the noise and damage to the trailer was amazing. Sounded like someone fired a gun right next to you. He had the ring ground side. The tire and rim flew up like a rocket and slammed into the bottom of the trailer and had bent the I beam the supports the weight of the floor. And not long ago a cement trucks tire popped right next to a Toyota Camry. Scared the driver so bad they laid down to duck and cover from gunshot fire, his claim as to what and how loud the tire failure was. The rim was a standard and not a split rim. Thank God no one was hurt nor were there any accidents. When police responded they thought they called for a single gunshots being fired on the road.

I had a 1989 suburban with 33" B F Goodrich mudders on it. They had 30* air in them. I had just got to work and was walking away from it when the left front tire had blown out. Be careful with transmission conditioners: they have an additive that de-hardens the internal seals to restore pressure and proper operation, but they need to be run for a while and then ALWAYS have the transmission completely drained and flushed out. If you leave it in, it will swell all the internal seals to a point where they bind or rip apart: leading to a complete trans rebuild. Ask me how I know... You did good!

If you're doing this DIY just to get by don't put the whole bottle in. One or two ounces go in and see if there's improvement enough, if not add another ounce and wait a bit. Once you get the desired effects give the fluid that's in there a few weeks then yes you should change it. The same additive for your trans can also slow rotating seal leaks in your engine and help lessen smoking from bad valve seals, but again just 1-2 ounces go in and wait before adding more then change the oil.

Crazy how strong those additives can be, the 4R70W in my town car had the torque converter shudder come back about 10,000 miles after doing a full drain and fill (removed torque converter drain bolt). I did some research and people recommended red lubegard, so I added about 2-3oz of the 10oz bottle and the shudder completely went away and never came back for the following 3 years and 15,000 miles I had the car.

Oh God, lol, one time I was riding with my dad and a Police officer was tailgating him and he really was. Like seriously, cop had to have been maybe 1.5 or 2 feet off the bumper. Didn't have his lights on, we weren't speeding, or anything. So dad made several turns and the cop kept doing it. I think the cop was just trying to make my dad nervous (good luck with that), so that he would screw up and the cop could pull him over. My dad being a Vietnam veteran and twice biker (Hell's Angels and Satan's Escorts) he didn't get nervous at all. Next thing I know, my dad slams the brakes and Mr. Officer ate the ass end of a Chevy 1500 and the Reese hitch. So the Reese hitch went through his cruiser grill, radiator, condenser, and cooling fans... Never seen the cop around again. Dad never got charged with anything and the police fixed the very little damage to the truck.

Long story short, a neighbor next to my families property owned a trucking company, and in his lets say 70x40 shop at the back had a semi tire inflation station with a full cage (incase of a tire rupture). Well one day he was inflating a tire in that station and the auto pressure shut off failed causing the tire to over inflate. The force was so strong it blew the cage apart, knocked a whole wall of tools off the wall and it even caused tubes of grease to explode. Luckily he was outside of the shop and no one was hurt. Crazy stuff..

I have fog lights on my rear bumper, wired on a switch. At night, i turn them on and the tailgaters quickly dissapear into the darkess. During the day, i “warn” the tailgaters to back off before i brake check them. Most of them get it when i flash the fog lamps at them. I live beside The Great Northern Highway in Western Australia. Last week a road train with a super single 11.00/22 tire at 140 PSI blew up next to our home. The explosion was huge. Luckily nobody was hurt and I found no damage to our home. I have also been near a mining dump truck when the rock ejector blew two 44 ply tires at the same time, the blast threw me some 2 Meters ( 7 feet ) onto my back. Production stopped as they thought I had been killed. Unfortunately for them I wasn't !! I blew a tire doing 80 on I475 in Macon. It destroyed part of my fender, the wheel well lining, and blee off the left side of my bumper cover. I had my son with me. He was 7, and he handled it like a champ. Middle of June, 104 F. A deputy stopped and checked on us on the side of the road and actually went and got us some water. Same thing happened to my Dad several years ago when he was in his company truck. He was passing a semi and a tire blew right beside him. The tire flew off the rim and smoked his truck. Question for anybody. Mechanics always say DON'T change trans fluid if high mileage and you don't know if it's ever been changed before. Metal shavings might be the only thing providing friction allowing trans to engage. (No shavings visible in this vid so dunno if that applies) I've always been in favor of simple fluid and filter change, no flush, every 30-40k. On higher mileage vehicles I roll the dice and do the same. So far the few trans I've done that to have held up. What do you think?

Ray I had a big truck tire rupture in my face at around 80 psi. Plugged tire that had been ridden on flat (dual rear tires). I was on a roll around mechanics chair and it knocked me out cold, ripped buttons and pocket off my shirt, busted lips and nose, at steel radial shrapnel in both eyes. I was in the dark for 3 days but fortunately the eye foundation in Birmingham was able to remove the steel from my eyes and I fully recovered. Tires are very very dangerous. I'm lucky not to be blind.

True storey: when I was 18, my buddy & I were getting ready for the drags the next day! We were @ the dealership I worked at. My boss loved & trusted me to close the service bay & lock it when done. My buddy was beading his 2 piece aluminum race wheels, I was 2 stalls down when I heard & felt the repercussion of the rim exploding when it beaded! Ray, on Hondas you are generally supposed to check the fluid level with the engine off. That Fit is probably overfilled. I'm also curious if that ATF you put in is actually Honda compatible. Their ATF is unique and smells different than other ATFs.

Didn’t Honda develop their own flush machine? We used the BG flush machine but our local Honda senior technicians said to drop the fluid and refill twice every 30,000. Apparently, Honda developed their own flush machine that does not use 10 psi to push any ATF through the lines. It can adversely affect the solenoids….🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

It is too bad that Honda did not allow a way to tap into the pressure and return lines that go to and from the cooler, to allow the transmission pump itself to flush the trans. I was able to do that on my 2005 Acura TL but I had to have a whole bucket full of fluid to allow the pump to suck in new fluid as it was pumping out the old stuff. The trans ended up living to 306,000 miles.

I drove a “semi truck” or artic over here in U.K. A trailer tyre blew on the motorway and it took with it the whole mudguard, blew off the steel bars that hold the mudguard on (they’re welded to the frame) and also blew out the metal under un bars. Common issue with the “Hondamatic” transmission (basically an automated manual transmission with multiple clutch packs). Try driving the car at low speeds & it will exhibit the tendency of holding lower gears for too long. Only way to fix this issue is to clean or replace the shift solenoids.

My very 1st car was a Honda Civic hatchback, 4 speed, that thing was literally indestructible as far as the clutch went lol! I learned how to drive standard on that car had it til it reached 190+k and loved it, but a cracked head had me crying all the way to the graveyard 😭 I just got a Honda Fit 5 speed last yr..... And this is WHY I wouldn't get an automatic. Like why? Lol! I don't know, I just seem to have had garbage luck with the maybe 2 automatic cars I owned. The many standards I owned, the engines quit before the clutch did. I have noticed with this Fit though, that shifting from 2nd to 3rd mostly when it's first started, not cold, but not warmed up fully either.... It wants to "pop" out of gear and I flcan feel the shifter "pop up" in my hand if that makes sense. Lol, I was at first hoping this video was about someone else having that same thing happen. I've never felt a standard do that before. 🫤

But it only does it when I first start driving, but even then only of I'm hard on it. I tend to be a little bit of an aggressive driver.... Lol, I call it defensive driving in a stupid drivers world.... I live in Massachusetts and if you're not a defensive driver, you'll be done for in no time, lol. About 25 years ago I worked in a truck tire repair shop, One of the employees was airing up a truck tire with a double ring. He was not using a safety cage and the air hose kept on popping off the valve. At approximately 40 to 50 pounds of pressure the ring blew off as the guy had his arm over it holding on the air hose, not only did the guy lose his arm the ring went through the roof of the tire shop.

Back in 2010 a few days before Christmas I was driving East on a road that has 2 lanes in each direction separated by a wide median strip when something told me to pull in behind a 10 wheeler in the right lane. A few seconds later I saw two objects go flying past my driver side mirror. The truck I was behind pulled off the road and as I drove on I saw other vehicles do the same; when I looked over at the median strip I saw a vehicle slowly coming to a stop in the middle of the strip. I made a U-turn and drove up to that vehicle and found that a deer had flown directly into the windshield missing the hood. The driver was pushed back in his seat to a reclining position with deer entrails all over the interior. The driver passed away from the impact right in front of us. Tire or deer, nothing good can come from getting hit with any flying debris at speed!

Dunno if it's related but the Honda Fit/Jazz was known for having dubious engine-management, which could result in flat-spots, long-starts and poor idle. With a manual you can "drive around" the issues but I'd imagine they could cause big problems for an auto'. I had a mk2 Honda Jazz as my "back up car" for a couple of years but it had a gigantic flat-spot at about 2000rpm, which equated to almost exactly 30mph in 3rd gear and exactly 60mph in 5th gear... which meant that, at the two most common speed-limits in the UK (30mph and 60mph), you couldn't use the most suitable gear. :-/

When I started noticing the flat-spot, however, I looked into it and it seems like it's a common thing... and Honda KNOW about it because they revised various bits of the ignition/engine management system half a dozen times during the life of the vehicle in an attempt to fix it. Dunno if the problem is related to fuel, different specifications in different markets or whatever but it seems to be one of those things that plague some people while other people don't have it at all.

Apparently Honda geared the Fit differently in the UK. My 2009 Fit, in fifth gear, at 60 MPH, the engine reved around 3000. I always though that if they geared the car properly, the gas mileage would have been much better.

Hey Rainman, check for a transmission filter on the Honda’s. It isn’t included in the maintenance schedule and never gets changed, and most Honda and Acura techs don’t even know it’s there. It is located above the main solenoid and looks like a smaller oil filter, it is on the cold side of the transmission return line located on the drivers side of the engine on the v6’s. Also while in there, pop out the solenoids and there are screens inside that can become gunked up with debris. Easily clean the screens with air or brake cleaner. Drain and fill with dw-1 Honda atf only, one drain and fill will give you approximately sixty percent new fluid in the system. Voilà, it’s like a brand new car the way it shifts and drives now. You are welcome Honda people, look into it on the internet. Type in your make model and year along with transmission fluid filter. It will fix hard shifts, shudder, and hesitation from the transmission. I hope this helps somebody else other than me and the forums I learned these facts from.

I always get nervous when pulling up next to a semi, especially at a light, ever since I saw videos of those two piece rims coming apart under pressure. This story just adds to it. Imagine sitting next to one of those tires when it blows.

Honestly two piece rims aren’t really a thing to worry about anymore. I believe they are even illegal in some states. But that probably doesn’t stop someone from running them on their classic rig. Awesome pfp by the way, the Duel 281 is my favorite movie truck.

Some additives can make the seals swell pretty bad. Check out precision transmissions channel. That being said I have used lucas additive for torque converter shutter and it made it 95% better.

I think part of the problem is when too much is used, at least that's what I remember what Richard from precision said. Personally, I've used 1 bottle in my son's 2000 mustang because of a shutter. 3 years and 20k miles later, no shutter.
