My mum used to own a 206CC with a diesel engine, 1.6 16v HDi with 110bhp. It was a high-spec Allure model, in Iron Grey with white leather (GN55YWB). It was really quick actually, with mpg in the 60s. And they were in very strong demand at the time she bought it used in 2007.

Yet another great video. Thanks Lee The Audi tt had exclusive paint. Very rare. One of similar spec in a standard colour with about 40k miles sold for £10k at the NEC classic car show about 2 years ago! I agree they’re bound to go up. The Alfa was nice. I had a Spyder with that engine in 08-10. Faultless but drank fuel - 24 average and got it down to 12mpg on one drive. Not the best engine. I know what you mean about future classics. In 1973 when I was 20 I had the choice of 2 cars that I was looking at. One was an E type 1964 going for £195 and a Vauxhall viscount 1967 going for £295. I bought the viscount. A big mistake as within a year the body fell apart. Anything over 40mph and the wings went outwards rather alarmingly. Didn’t realise anything from my era would be worth anything. Bet that Jag would be worth a pretty penny now.

Last Alfa Romeo I took in part ex over 40 years ago had a blown exhaust and sounded like a ripper. Lancia and Alfa had a recall and were taking cars back as they were rusting when new in the showroom. Sold a white Lancia Montecarlo convertible brand new which had to go to paint shop to get the rust on the boot lid repaired. Think they are worth a bob or two now.

So £2600 for the TT225, 2002 and only 77000 on it. Plus that colour (possibly Audi exclusive option) that’s pretty good. Those cars like you say they’re going to increase in value. Tricky getting some parts for them of course it being well over 10 years since MK1’s out of production. I’m hoping my 2016 MK3 TTS with lots of options holds it’s money and becomes a collectors car. Maybe you should try getting into the MK1 TT, might be a good market for you Lee.

@carukchannel Жыл бұрын
thanks david, when i first started it was rovers like the 200 and 400 and used to do well with. most traders were scared of them because of head gasket issues, did not bother me as i would repair them and new the models well. had some decent coin out of then selling to the older buyers.
@C4793-h3o Жыл бұрын
The Brera was a funny one, I worked at an Alfa dealership for a short time and one of the sales men said it looked like a Civic. Reliability wise I had more problems (nothing major) with VWs and Audis compared to my manual Alfa GT 2.0JTS. The only issue it had was a loose electrical connection under the driver seat. I bought the GT at the dealership I worked at, a demonstrator car with the GTA teledial wheels and tan leather interior. Selespeed can be tricky in Alfas though I believe, I think they’re essentially the same type of transmission as a DSG. Not sure on reliability of Selespeed, mind you the VAG DSG transmission has had a bad press to. Clutch packs comes to mind, but they seem to have fixed that issue with harder linings. If I was buying into the MK1 TT I’d avoid the DSG version, as a future classic I’d say the manual versions are a more desirable proposition.
