When you have ac and an insulated house it’s mild weather but yea I know what you mean I live in Georgia and one time when I was camping during a heat wave it was not only humid af but it was 100 degrees at night and 120 during the day and the sleeping bag and tent only held in more heat and humidity and made it worse overall

When I used to live in my car, I bought a portable misting fan on Amazon for about $60 (it's about $50 now). That was a lifesaver. I was sleeping in the car during summer when it was anywhere from 90 to 100 degrees outside at night, and that misting fan on high speed an intermittent mist was able to keep me cool while I slept and it was USB charger and battery operated. I also used it in the daytime while I was driving when it was even hotter because my AC compressor broke and was like $1,000 to replace. That damn fan saved my life that summer. Best purchase ever.

Back in summer 2016 I was homeless and sleeping in my 97 Camry with my dog Mochi. I got a membership at pf so I have a place to clean myself. Then I end up getting my car towed because I couldn’t pay the registration. End up moving at my friends house where I would regularly park few houses down because that was the only safe place I knew at the time. Then I started working at the same planet fitness. And eventually got back on my own feet. I’m in a much better situation now. Tough times don’t last only thought people do.

How do Texans go camping and hiking in nature? I dislike hot weather. I can't go outside.
@natashal8437
@natashal8437 2 ай бұрын
If you park your car outside in the open air like most people living out of their cars do, carbon monoxide is not an issue. If we had an enclosed space to park our cars and we probably have an enclosed space to live too. As long as you turn your car off you're fine. Do people die of carbon monoxide poisoning in their cars while traveling (with the engine running mind you) during the winter when the windows are up all the time? Or if they're traveling long distances? No. Sleeping in the car is the same principle.

@@LaoSoftware. When you grow up here you get used to it. I don’t hike to much or go walking out if it’s over about 95. If it will be mostly shaded with a breeze blowing it’s doable. But I always carry at least half a gallon of water and Gatorade.

If you're stuck sleeping in HOT weather, strip down the cover yourself with a wetted down towel with your fan(s) pointed at you. As a trucker I've had to do this on occasion when my a/c has died and the temps are 100° and up. Also, poured water on my dog to help her stay cooler.
@Cheepchipsable
@Cheepchipsable 3 ай бұрын
Two sheets, dampen the top one, don't wet it too much and put the dry on first then the damp one. You create an evaporation air con that cools the space underneath the sheets. Helps to have the window open a crack so the humidity can escape. A fan will make it work faster but still works either way.

Depending on what car you have, a Check Engine light is either an issue or a minor inconvenience. 2000-2013 GM cars tend to be a mix, larger vehicles get them less often and for more important reasons. Japanese brands tend to have a good reason for that, and German brands with check engine lights on is just the experience of owning a german car.

During the day u will see a 30 to 40 degree differ3nce and at night 20 to 30. Also I bought black mesh window covers. This is so u can keep windows down get fresh air. Yes very good advice. I'm not sure if it's only where I live but there is a lake and river campground right beside each other and the river is noticeably very much colder than the lake like they're literally 2 minutes apart as the dam only separates them but the river is very much colder (, which makes the temperature drop if you're a camping right beside the river.), I don't know if this is because of all of the water from the lake is released from the bottom going into the river which the bottom might be colder since there is no sunlight hitting it(these are just my personal experiences)

Hey brother man. Salt Lake City here, and from 2018-3023 (carnival funtime in the world) I spent HUNDREDS of nights in the Cracker Barrel parking lot when gas money was low or plans change. When stuck in a city it's nice to have this backup "arse saved again by CB" option. I noticed in the video, and you probably just didn't film it, but I really recommend you film, for next time... the part where you purchase breakfast, or a side of sausage for your dog, or perhaps even a small inexpensive plastic/wood gadget from the front gift shop area. Let'em know, and all of us as well, that the Barrel is the official Overlanding Adventures in Arse Saving, Really Nice LOTS & Really Good Breakfast Too! Semper Fi!

Road trip/back-country hiking & camping in the Rockys/Montana, was the absolute best trip of my life. The fiance & I had an 04 Yukon XL so we had room to make a (very comfy) bed in the back. Did some incredible hiking & trails everyday, and then found random forests to park/sleep in (tiny bit creepy). But some of the most hardcore, narrow trails & cliffs/drop offs.. as well as unfathomable beauty & stunning views, (all the deadly wildlife up-close too)😅. And the night sky & meteor showers are so vivid, so bright, so close it feels like your in space. Its like you can see every star & every planet there ever was. Man I need to go back to that place😊

I lived in a garage for 6 months. I know the struggle. Planet Fitness was a life saver. I could shower and use the restrooms anytime. I have huge respect for those who live out of their car. The coldest days and the hottest days must hit extra heavy. And I know the inconvenience of cooking meals and finding places isn't easy.

I one time met a midgetess along one of my trips and we hooked up. We went to the buffet and I was able to get her meal on the child menu. It was awesome. Blazing with her was so good too. She would get wasted after 2 puffs. We're getting married this weekend at Dennys. So happy now

80° isn't hot but a car parked in the sun will typically be 30° hotter than the outside temp, plus bodyheat and exhaled breath on top of that. Sunlight goes through the glass and heats up the interior, and has nowhere to escape. This is why your car is so hot during the summer when you leave it parked outside a couple hours. I lived in my car during the peak of the summer, sometimes it was about 130 degrees first entering it. Even with the windows cracked like in this video its not enough to cool it down. Has to be all the way down and its still hotter than the outside temp. Key is parking in the shade but you cant always do that so buy multiple folding window shades. Putting 1 window shade on each side of the car blocks out 95% of sunlight which makes a huge difference. Winter is another beast

I'd be idling w/ AC. Have slept in my car a lot & done it many times. Doesn't burn much gas.

When I went camping for my birthday, I went for 5 nights. With moderate humidity, It was up to 112f during the day, night time it cooled down to 90f at 10pm! and in the early morning it was 75-80f.. luckily I went just to swim in my favorite river in a different spot everyday so day time wasn’t to bad, the heat/sun dried my swimming stuff super fast, then I’d go for a long dinner and icecream and download a couple shows to watch later, before heading back to camp. On day 3 the heat really started to get to me, the 4th day I spend longer in town doing laundry before heading back to camp and day 5 I ended up driving an hour north to spend the last night at my friends house to catch up and thankfully relax in her AC before driving 4 hours south the next day to get back home where it’s usually 70f or below at the warmest part of the day 😅

Hi..I have a great suggestion for you!! To stay cool at night..that cooler you have .get an ice pack they are 1$ at most places sometimes 2..but freeze it and at night place it under your neck or underarms and it will keep you cool!! My son does it all the time cuz it's so hot in out house in the winter❤😊

Pro tip, travel at night and sleep during the day. Just catch a cool 4 hours in a public park or at a beach. Rest stops along the freeway are also solid for a little picnic nap.

So ....this is a vacation/holiday ? How much money do one put aside , for a month holiday ? It got to be much cheaper, not renting hotel,lodge ,hut or anything. It seem cosy , and i bet it gives a lot of freedom. I also went on "camping trip's , when i was young (before getting a kid,). I usually had a small tent. The freedom,to go anywhere , and how cheap one could do it,and still have a fantastic holiday ❤ This should all young people do. When you get a family,it not this easy . So,make the most of your time as a young and singel person ! I worked a lot,to save up for these fantastic adventures. Its not something one will regret ! Well worth a lot of extra jobs.
