Thanks for the video. Need to build up the confidence to do an e-brake one, but while I've done plenty of Power drifts on the street; an e-brake one will likely throw me into the sidewalk lol. I sometimes miss my Primacy's since I got new Conti EWS06+ but it just takes a little more effort to get the new tires to squeal. I usually do them in normal mode to stay stable, one time I tried it with traction off and it spooked the shit out of me cuz I overthrottled lol, that's when I learned that stability and traction control do A Lot to make small street drifts easy.
@shift__robinson2 ай бұрын
@@Rob165x No problem, hope you enjoy the rest of the series to come 🙌🏽 I would probably try an empty parking lot for the first time pulling that e-brake. The sensation is different from just giving it throttle. It’s good that you have a comparison from oem to your current tire. You can break traction on any compound, but sustaining the slide can be easier or harder depending on grip level differences. Since our cars don’t have 300+ hp, tire choice really matters 🙂 I took an frs out one time at a dealership for a test drive. The moment I realized stability wasn’t fully off from just hitting the buttons, was entering the freeway and doing a power-slide getting on. Once I reached too much steering angle, it intervened and that freaked me out 😂

might be a dumb question, but when you are judging throttle and steering are you touching the clutch to help control the power or just in first gear and just going on and off the gas? around @10:10 cause I know you clutch e-brake then drop the e-brake and clutch but then is it only throttle and steering?
@shift__robinson25 күн бұрын
@@johnp3399 That’s a good question! On that segment I’m only modulating throttle after initiating the slide. Correct, I clutched in, pulled the e-brake, then released the e-brake, then released the clutch while simultaneously stepping on the gas pedal.

@shift__robinson2 ай бұрын
@@blacklight6200 Great question, I would go about it 2 ways. Shop for the cheapest all season tire, with the highest tread wear rating on them. TireRack does a good job at comparisons. Or find a local tire shop that gets used tires frequently in a common size tire you want. Usually they have a bin of tires waiting to get picked up and recycled and they may give it away or sell them to you for dirt cheap. Maybe you can make a deal with them if you share your plans to burn through them quickly.

@@ruturaj47 To an extent you’re correct. It’s still considered a performance tire, but nothing like RE71’s or equivalent as far as grip.
