So at the beginning of all these types of videos it says for educational purposes only. Now we all watch them for entertainment however we are learning things we aren't really aware of. An example just happened to me the other day. Whenever I'm the first person in line waiting for the light whenever I get a green light I treat it as if I was a child crossing the street looking both ways before proceeding. Like a lot of people I used to sort boot at soon as it turned but I've seen too many accidents on KZbin in these situations. Especially when the road is a 45 MPH zone or higher. The other day I did ithe grandma hesitation and as I went to proceed I caught a horrible sight coming on the right. A loaded 18 wheeler that was flying and b/c he was either unfamiliar with the area or going to fast to stop he was going through the red no matter what. It was snowing heavy in Boston which made it even worse. As he went by we made eye contact and his expression said he was relieved I was slow out of the blocks and I was relieved to to still be with us. This tuck blew through the intersection missing me by inches, and if he had hit me I would've been on the news. It was one of those close calls that get your adrenaline going. I had to pull over for a second and when I did the guy behind me stopped and said "that was close! Are you good man?". I will continue to do that at every light now especially in shitty weather and I'd advise everyone to do the same b/c im still getting to work on time or where i want to be when i want to be there. Everyone needs to know it's the other drivers on the road with you that are the risks and with cell phones and everything else to distract yourself or other drivers that split second might be an important one. So even though there isn't one particular video that I'm thankful for watching I am lucky I've subscribed to so many channels that make these comps. l'd like to thank all the people that put these types of compilations together and the individuals that upload the originals and give permission to share them b/c believe it or not one fatality was definitely averted!

True. Stay alert when driving, always watch for the unexpected. I've been driving for 50 years now and you can actually learn to read some drivers by how they drive and call their moves long before they actually make them.

@@wayneurquhart1967 Truck thought both lanes went straight since there is two lanes on the other side, realized his mistake and quickly switched into the correct lane, and then switched back immediately after the intersection. The driver with the cam obviously did not notice/care that his lane does not go straight and so went right into the spot the truck was sure no one could legally be in.

That is a reflection off of the back glass of the pickup 1) The tonneau cover is a solid material, not see through or transparent 2) Watch the person's head in the reflection, appears to snap "forward" when the vehicle is hit, due to the reflection. In reality, the head snaps backward, which would normally happen in a situation like that.

Keep in mind that these dash cams have wide angle lenses, I have one. What that means is that it makes it look like there is much more room between the vehicles than there really is. Just like the passenger's side view mirror.

Ranlive1 - I used to drive this everyday. The cammer is in the wrong. The cammer is driving straight through a left turn only lane. Shortly after that light there is an intersection where you must either turn left or right. So the trucker was getting in the left lane to turn left at the next light. The cammer should not have gone straight from the left turn lane. Regardless of the blinker.

Apparently, he dropped it as he was trying to empty it out his window and he had pulled over to get out and walk back to pick it up, but I ran over it before he could get to it. My wife was rear-ended at about 5-10mph a few months ago - the bumper had significantly less damage than that and was replaced as repairs aren't really done to the plastic trim. So yeah, replacement is likely needed.
