Why aren't all the wheels removed? It seems you'd save room without them. Also when the vehicle gets flattened the wheel usually holds up, without the wheel it would flatten more and you'd have more vertical room for other stuff, no?

1st car (Dodge Caravan) was in decent shape for the body work. Lights and glass were still salvageable too. 2nd Car was old, worn out, badly rusted, missing the front and beat up in general. Only good thing is the rubber and glass for recycling. Due for crushing 3rd Car was beat up but still had good parts like lights, body panels, grille, glass and frame. Looks like an older car too so I probably wouldn't have crushed it (if I ran a junkyard) 4th car was dead but still had good body panels and glass. Due for crushing though, it wasn't a special car. 5th Car (the Civic) was old and worn out, but the glass, and wheels were still good for recycling.
