I was close to purchasing a gladiator rubicon but they were only offering me 20k off, I stood firm because I know these things aren’t selling and I want one cheap and said to call me when they are willing to come down to my number. The issue with the current mind set is that when someone sees “call/come in for price” it means the price is going to be WAY over MSRP. Dealerships have f***ed themselves when they did that over the past couple years. So they have to change the customer’s perspective on what the advertisement means. People won’t go in cause they don’t want to feel pressured.

The dealer took off almost $4,000 from MSRP and installed an auto dimming mirror for free since that's what I wanted and it didn't have it. There were no mark ups but the finance guy tried selling me different packages. I just wanted gap insurance and that's all I got. I'm very happy with my car. @JimAllen-Persona We lived and worked in Silicon Valley until fleeing the state in 2017. If people knew what California used to be like, and what it became, they'd be astonished, not in a good way either They 'imported' millions of foreigners from south of the border - a large portion of those foreigners cut lawns, did landscaping to feed their family. Then a couple years ago, the same governor who ruined the state OUTLAWED OUTDOOR POWER TOOLS Stuff like that. Gas is $6, $7 a gallon there. State income tax is now 14.4% And there are no apartments either, they imposed rent control on the entire state in 2019. No one is building apartments. In the 'lower 48' states, there are still about 45 states to choose from. But not California, NY, or Illinois I would actually avoid Oregon and Washington state too. 6:07 WRONG answer Brandon . If they were really hurting , you would not have to go inside to find out prices . Or , these dealerships are too dumb to get it , and deserve to go under . F all these BS games !!
@batsonelectronics
@batsonelectronics 7 ай бұрын
you didn't hear the explanation. Contract between the manufacturer and the dealer to not advertise BELOW a certain amount. I imagine those contracts are for as long as the dealer sells that brand car, so not changeable.

No , I heard it . The dealers should tell them to stick it up their asses before they all go under . As before , F all these BS games ! Before you start , if all of them told the manufacturer to stick it . They would have to void their contracts , or BOTH go under . @@batsonelectronics

If lots of franchise stores close and shutter there's some possible fallout. 1. Lots of good people will be unemployed. 2. Hopefully techs will go out on their own and start repair shops. We need more! 3. Drastic drop in production could finally choke out the cancerous unions who helped raise prices this high.

Sadly ford escapes 2001-2008 have the famous CD4E bad transmission that will break down. Ford didn't want to fix this transmission of its faults. Weak Torque converter, high pressure valve body. when they rebuild them they put in the correct torque converter and relieve the high pressure in the valve body. few other updates that ford refused to do address to make it break down so they can sell more parts for it.

Guess raising MSRPs was a shot in the foot for these manufacturers. Some of the these dealers also still have markups and refuse to budge even as their lots are starting to overflow with inventory. Delusional at best.

I know a face to face talk to a salesperson is a bit of an ordeal. Telephone call... easier. At least to see if you're wasting your time or not. Seriously... call and say how much you're willing to spend OTD.. not a penny more.... including road tax and sale tax etc.
