You know those manually operated pallet lifters used in supermarkets? Because the turning wheels are at the back, with the two “prongs” in front of you, I used to have fun watching people try to use them and getting mixed up because of having to turn the steering “the wrong way”. A girl was near to tears one day, trying to get a pallet into the lift. She was bumping into anything and everything that could be bumped into. The look on her wee face when I took seconds to get it into the lift using one hand was funny. I did take it to where she wanted it on the shop floor though, the wee soul.

An American here, who lives in the Atlanta Metro area. How you are able to stay in the truck and watch this is a testament to zen. I drove through Scotland for 5 weeks in a stick shift without GPS or a working cell phone and never had anything like this occur. I will admit to a few moments of "holy shit, holy shit, holy shit" when passing large farm tractors on narrow lanes in the highlands during my first week. And there was major flooding and washed out bridges from Gardenstown on the East Coast to Inverness that took about 2 years off my life. When you know that at any second water can be sucked up into the engine and crack the block and you would have to get out, wade through rivers and call in on total strangers who likely hate tourists you white knuckle it pretty hard. But the back roads, narrow lanes and no voice telling me to turn in 100ft is the way to really see what a place is like. Spend a little bit of time before driving looking at google maps and street view shots, jot down a couple of street names and land marks on a notepad and drive. No idea why I felt the need to share that here.

All the comments about reversing and gaining a licence: it's interesting that reversing doesn't figure too highly in a driving test. Passed my test 2020 Jan, I did: 3 point turn Reversing round a corner Reverse bay parking Parallel parking Multiple times during all my lessons I'd have to reverse down a lane like this too It's also worrying how she's a bad driver in such an up to date car too, sensors and cameras are commonplace in cars now, my 2004 corsa doesn't even have sensors! Reversing is a lot more common nowadays and the tests are harder ( don't believe me? Check official gov website and see over the years how passing your test has become more challenging!) @@cxhxzz5679 please 2 reverse exercises and 2 exercises following directions is what you do to pass a test nowadays. None of the reversing you do in lessons or tests has you reversing down a country lane with a lorry on your bonnet. Granted a reversing is not hard for some but others struggle. At least she got out the way many would have tried to force the lorry back

kahlan well for my instance living in the country with a LOT of one way lanes quickly taught me to adapt to reversing if there are no lay-bys in the near vicinity. I found that the reversing exercises in my lessons helped me a lot with my everyday commuting and driving in general. I'm struggling to see your point? There is a clearly visible lay-by which the Audi can easily navigate into but instead chose not to, her even attempting to force the lorry back would be laughable. Yes you do those exercises to not only pass your test but to bear it in mind for the future. Too many people like you're saying do it to pass the test and forget! It's tragic how you're taught to parallel park for your test and yet most people I know after passing said test have never had to do so.

there is a good reason why in my home country you have to go to a driving school with a certified driving instructor who will assess you when you are ready to take the test and won't admit you to take a test before you are ready to pass it. you can't just put an L on your car and let your alcoholic parent "teach" you how to drive.

Reminds me when I was in Cornwall in a mk2 pajero, not overly big 4x4s, but I had mud tires on so sticks out 3 inches either side then it should, and I was going downhill and a golf come up towards me, I had gone 600 yards down this hill, he maybe 150 at the most and was at night, he expected me to pull into a gap the size of a mini, so waited for him to reverse and he couldn’t reverse a tiny car😂 he ended up having no reverse light on cause I switched my lights off and kept my brake lights on for anyone coming behind so he could see better, did it help him.... nope, so stuck mine into reverse put my reverse light bar on and in anger wheeled spinner up the hill backwards all because of a clown that couldn’t reverse 150 yards if that, nah get the bigger vehicle to do it🙄

Must of literally blagged their way through the driving test, appalling driving skills with the easiest scenario being the car pulled into the first pull in section to allow the lorry too safely pass through down the lane... Suppose... Least the light's work on the audi car, nowadays all these new cars dont seem to come with indicators etc as they dont use them on the motorways etc 🙄😏

@@jhwhthemerciful probably someone who got their license too long ago and has since developed very bad driving habits. People like her, if they are insecure in situations like this, should pay for a couple driving lessons and specify to the teacher to work on situations like this, if she can afford that nice audi she can afford a couple driving lessons to gain more confidence and competence on the road.

@@jinglemyberries866 Here in Belgium about 40 years ago people could get their license without any driving test whatsoever. Only thing that was required was having two arms, two legs and no criminal record. It obviously changed since then but is the same also true for America, or some of the states?
