Car Fender - Kotflügel - Fusion 360 Training - Surfaces

You can download the files from my grabcad account ( grabcad.com/library/car-fende...) .This is done quick and dirty, In order to get better results you would have to split the car fender into smaller surfaces. Thank you for the video tutorial. How did you save the picture of the car in frame, and where did you get it from? Does it have to be a certain format, as I noticed it was a side view and front view, and top view. Is it a 3D picture? thank you in advance.

When you are using a b-spline is it necessary to use that many control points? Adding so many control point defies the purpose of using curves.

You need at least enough control points to make the shape. So you could of course use less cps.

Nice tutorial. Is it also possible to create 2 surfaces (one from the side, one from the top) and use their intersection to create the 3D lines? What are the advantages/disadvantages between the 2 methods?

Thanks, yes you could intersect 2 surfaces as well. Obviously the surface method has no advantages - you would have to create the curves for the surfaces - so it is more work and the result wouldn´t be better. There would be an advantage if you have the surfaces already.

hi, thanks for the video! How could i add 1-2mm thickness to this fender to get it ready for 3d printing? I have a fender imported from 3ds max and it is an un-repaired (non-manifold) mesh and the thickening feature does not work. Thank you in advance.

if thicken doesn´t work you have to modify your model/curvature/radius/bends. Obviously you surface can not be offsetted.

Ich bin mit diesem Programm nicht richtig vertraut genauer gesagt fast gar nicht, seit 3,4 Wochen versuche das Programm mir beizubringen . Habe privat ein Projekt gestartet älteres Modell Audi außen umzubauen nach langem Überlegen habe ich mich für dieses Programm um 3D Drucker entschieden.
