This was my second visit to The Old Piggery in my Esprit. The first was a beautiful summer's day, a complete contrast to the freezing morning of my second visit. But still a good turnout of such a varied selection of cars. The Lotus Cortina and the 1973 Porsche were fantastic cars.

What a great car your Renault 4CV is. To the best of my knowledge I have never seen one in the UK yet I'm 70 years old. Sorry to hear about the debacle with the Calendar company. Such an odd way to go about running a business.

Yeah it's all a bit odd, but maybe there are things going on behind the scenes that I'm not privvy to, who knows.

Something nice to look at on a Sunday morning. Watched Harley's channel this morning also. Interesting video of you and Harley and the Standard 8. I know what you mean in regards to parking a small car. Some of the 60s and 70s American cars were huge and probably left a carbon footprint half the size of Great Britain. Nice show and great variety of all types of cars. I also like the videos of the large lorries you include in you show. There's the odd one in our shows here but nothing close to the number you have in Britain. At least not here in Nova Scotia. The custom body's on your lorries seem to be of a much nicer design and build than here. Probably not spelling lorry properly. We call them trucks and tractor trailers here. Thanks for the videos and will be watching for more.

That MG Tourer looks a lovely car. Next time it is at a meeting can you video it a bit more. Shame about the calendar, but hey that one is so special. Another great presented video.

I had a radiator muff on my Austin 1100 ack in the 70s. I think it had small flaps on either side so if you wished you could have some cooling.

Another good video RJ and that XJS is indeed a magnificent vehicle but your 4CV is still for me a great car. With regards to the calendar company I would just walk away from them, you will be disappointed by them for sure, damned annoying.

Cheers for the update on the calendars. I think with 26K+ subs you could try 2025 printing 100 upfront as a safe bet - first come first served from August onwards - and then ramp it up from there year on year as you will then have 'market research' on how many people asked.
@oldclassiccarUK10 ай бұрын
I might well try that, it's just the time thing that puts me off a bit as there isn't a local post office very close by, plus having to pay up-front with no guarantee that they'd all go :-) Thanks for watching!

Another great video, I know what you mean about finding the specification changes of a particular car very interesting. One of the (many) reasons I enjoy your Chanel so much is the effort you make out to point out the differences between model years. Whether it’s Windscreen sizes on the Bedford CA or the different front end of the MK 1 and 2 A40’s it’s all stuff I didn’t know and long may it continue. By the way, I’m pretty sure the 6 cylinder XJS’s had a more prominent raised centre section on the bonnet to accommodate both the 3.6 and 4.0 engines, it’s an easier way to tell which engine is fitted than peering at the rev counter ! Have a great Xmas and thanks for your efforts this year.

Thanks for another entertaining video, Rick. I could feel the chill of that car meet through the computer! Those exotic Zenos cars were actually built in the UK. The company didn't last long and I believe only about 100 were built. My understanding is they had hot Ford 4 cylinder engines. Anyway, I appreciate the work you put into trying to get a calendar set up. I suspect the lag in time is either the time it takes for the company to communicate and get a mockup from Korea or China or other Asian countries that are used frequently to produce printed goods cheaply or they operate out of a shed or bedroom, but have a legit looking front end. In my former job as a marketing manager, I had the responsibility of producing a lot of printed goods, CD's (remember those?), and ads. Even with a good printer across town, and working through emails and file sites it still took weeks to work through layouts and their printing machine schedule. I often started a process many months before needing a finished product. I also assume vendors are looking for large quantities to make it worth their while. Good luck with the idea, which is a great one.

Good evening Richard . Although it's disappointing the company couldn't meet deadlines for the 2024 calender why not get them to just update for 2025 . You seemed to be very happy with the presentation , so you can't do anything about the coming year , so be early for the following year . Maybe this doesn't suit your criteria ? .....As you say , not much point in ordering 500 copies if you only sell 100 ! Perhaps this may remain on the back shelf ......better a live coward than a dead hero !! Thanks Richard

The problem is I contact them then don't hear anything back for months, if ever, so to recommend buying something from them isn't something I'd be happy with doing in fairness.

Maybe I should auction it :-) I could easily get a stack of them printed but then it'd be down to me to pay up front for them all, distribute them all, etc etc and I don't have time for all that sadly with everything else going on.

When you mentioned that you might be putting out a calendar, my ears perked up. We've just gone through a lengthy process trying to order a to order a Stanley Steamer calendar. Finding none, my wife suggested steam trains. I found a beautiful one of British steam trains, but the weeks were Monday - Sunday, which we've had before and often caused minor confusions. In the US, our calendars run Sunday - Saturday. I am still interested in an OCC calendar, but I wonder if your supplier (should you find one) would have the option of S - S, rather than M - S. (Just another spanner in the works.) BTW, we've ordered one with S - S, but the pix aren't as nice.

That's really disappointing that your calendar supplier turned out to be so crap after the effort you put into what would clearly have been an excellent product. It's businesses like that that take the Great out of Great Britain and I'm pleased to see you have given them a well deserved heave-ho. Better luck with the 2025 calendar! So it's not only classic cars that "fail to proceed"!😄
