I agree. A bit of a different angle. Meet the person who owns the car instead of just the repair or problem being the only focus. Little ideas like that that change the dynamic and set it apart from what others are doing. Most shops don't even let customers in... ya know for insurance reasons lol... more like so you can't see how we're ripping you off

Nice to see a true Master Mechanic who lets his work ethic and skill do all the talking, rather then telling us at the start of each video what a great mechanic he is. I would always jump on Hoovies's BMW videos because I knew we were heading to the Ninja's shop. This is definitely my favorite "mechanics" channel on KZbin

You know, there are a few channels I like. They are entertaining and knowledgeable. The ones that are my favorites show integrity and humility. For Jonny to show his little temper tantrum and then eat a piece of humble pie and admit he was way off base shows he's grounded. I enjoyed this one. I hope this channel explodes! Love ya, Ninja!

Ya those 2.0 TFSI were horrible for a couple years. Needed tons of work. If the oil consumption started while under warranty Audi would update it all. Still an engine I would stay away from, those years anyways. I think it was 2008-2010 worst ones iirc. The other years that have cam follower issues are much better overall. My brother just learned how to do that job himself and he replaces it every year as preventative maintenance. Being religious with maintenance also really helps those engines.

I forget which one, but I think it's the Ford 3.5 eco boost that has the water pump behind the timing chain. The water pump is a regular wear item and requires a $4000 tear down to get to. The kicker? The impellor is plastic and regularly breaks...... That's the issue with auto engineers these days. Ok, if you're going to engineer it this way, make the water pump more durable so it should last the life of the engine.

And yes when my boss told me there were bolts on the flywheel like an automatic!!! I laughed and thought he was having a joke.... but yeah had to do that and it is stupid and not needed at all!!!! But engine is ready to go back in now but at least we both know about it now...... Hope all went well with that engine.... I have another 2 coming in but its on an A4 and a Skoda Superb!!! Previously done the supercharged and turbo charged unit in a VW Scirocco which was a real pain in the ass....

All it needs is a dramatic voiceover. "Jonny is taking on a very sick Audi A4 engine. But can he diagnose what's wrong, or is there trouble ahead?" Cut to Jonny: "Well, we've been working on it for three months now and it's worse than I thought...". Fantastic :)

It ran just fine while I owned it, but two weeks after he bought it the head gasket blew and because of a warped head he had to replace it. It had just shy of 300k miles, never left he or my family stranded. 2 clutches, several valve cover gaskets, couple of brake jobs, a muffler and fluids and filters and it ran like a top when it was sent to the junk yard. Try that with a BMW made after the 90s! It really is sad to watch the downturn of these once great car companies who have traded their values for those of planned obsolescence. So apparently the girl in the front said, "Are you dropping off or waiting?" Guy, "I'll wait" You can only eat so many cheese crackers, snickers bars and chips out of the vending machine

Its time I bought some AXE & SLEDGE supplements and did a few workouts. Who needs a Beamer when a T shirt alone will have you looking seriously cool.

Oil consumption? must be a 2.0 TSI like mine LOL . Low tension oil control rings , low speed running, bad quality gas. Drive it like a German probably last forever with a few timing chains.
