#nissanleaf #62kwh We make the car range test of Vivne 62kwh battery pack with Nissan Leaf ZE1. Full highway with the car air conditioner turned on the whole time. Average energy economy is 15.3kwh/100KM. We had re-programmed the BMS. So the dashboard can display the whole correct new mileages and no "turtle" appears the whole process. After 4 and a half hours , we successfully completed the full highway car range test, with the air conditioner on the whole time. Driving speed 100-110km/h. The 62kwh battery pack has a range of up to 300 kilometers. 2 testers. Weight: 90kgs+ 53kgs
Weather: 28℃ and a bit stuffy

Thanks for the detailed test video! Would be nice to see a Bjørn Nyland like 1000 km test. I know, it would be time consuming, but then the most annoying isue of leaf (rapidgate) could be presented, if your battery upgrade solution eliminates it or not. (if not, you can be still be proud of your solution. Nissan did not do anything with rapidgating during the whole lifecycle of leaf). So 3-4 consecutive fast charging would be interresting. There were one charging devided to two charging session. The first was done with avg.: 36kW charging speed, and the second with avg.: 9kWh charging speed. The first session had to be 18% -> 65%. According to batery temperature, it could have been higher (28C -> 34C). Is the BMS reprogramed, and limited? I saw in your videos, a bracing part of battery hausing have to be cut out to make room for the rear row of 5 battery stack. A found a russian DIY -er who placed only 4 in cross position at the bottom of rear section, then placed 6 at the top of rear section. In that way, there is no need of bracing cut. Did you investigated thate layout? Did you ever upgraded original 62kW nissan leaf battery, which has originally taller battery casing? Did you investigate an original 62kW leaf battery upgrade? It has 160kW peak power, and its BMS accept 200A (or 250A, I dont know the precise spec.) charging in ideal condition.

Thanks for the suggestion! Actually we have plans to drive from Songzi city, Hubei province, where we located to Lhasa, Tibet, total 3000kms in distance by Nissan Leaf. We replaced the original soft pack battery to large CATL cells modules, which generate less heat and bear a much smaller C rate. On the trip to Tibet, we will record multiple fast charges. But China's charging piles have fast charging power of 120kw, slow charging power of 3.3kw and 6.6kw. We will record the battery temperature. We had reprogrammed the BMS. So the dashboard can display the correct new mileages. One distinctive feature of our upgrade is with no need to modify the original battery case. I not sure which video you are referring to that need to cut the the bracing part. We had done the research and the cut of the reinforcement ribs has effect on the strength. So we try to avoid the cutting of the original battery case to change its structure. The original 62kwh leaf battery case is also taller. And the fast charging current is limited by the original fast charging power and has nothing to do with the BMS.

Thanks for the video, I much prefer an actual human voice, the AI voices on some of your other videos are irritating. To improve: I´d like to see three things: 1) A graph of the speed during the test. It looks like the speed is around 110kmph on the highway, and 90 in the tunnels, but it would be nice to know. 2) A charging graph showing the charging speed. My 40kWh ZE1 has pretty terrible charging speed unless the battery is the perfect temperature, and the SOC less than 60%. It would be interesting to see how the 62kWh battery behaves with temperature and SOC. 3) A graph of the battery temperature during the test and charging. My ZE1 battery gets pretty hot at highway speeds, and I cannot do more than one fast charge before the battery is too hot to even drive. Best regards from Spain, Roger

Thanks for the feedback. I will use my actual voice for all the later videos. 😀 Appreciate of the suggestion, we will consider how to display these information, which may require some other equipment or software. Please keeps following our channel. Thank you.

The sales of the first generation Leaf car is not good in China. So Nissan adjusted their strategy in China. The configuration of Sylphy in China is nearly the same as Leaf ZE1, only some slight difference. For example, the dashboard in China display km/h. But configuration is almost the same. Only in sedan form is more popular in China.

can you make a LFP Battery upgrade for these ZE1 please

If for LFP, first of all, the voltage will not match with Leaf.

Yes, this car available only on CHDM(China Domestic Market). As well as many other CHDM cars such as nio, zeekr, and and many others what we probably never gonna see outside of China. At least, not in USA. Where is already some Chinese brands on European market. But not in USA.
