It might look good now, but it looks like a bare plastic bar and now half is painted, after a while the sun will change it and youll easily see the difference. Always spray the whole bar so its uniform, instead of blending it.

Good afternoon Edwin, excellent results. You got the plan with that bumper repair. You get to repair parts, over here in the states they throw it in the dumpster. No one has any skills such as you. They are parts changers. Great video. You take care.
@Seneric5 жыл бұрын
Why would you trash perfectly good parts ? This is a standard repair in the Netherlands. No insurance company is going to spend the cash to replace something that can be repaired dirt cheap. If this is really the case in the States, I suggest taking everything out of the trash that you can, fix it up and sell it as a used part. You could make a fortune.

I couldn't do his job. I could make the bumper look as nice, but he's given a certain amount of time to accomplish this masterpiece, he does it and no one says "good job". He is expected to do this level of work everytime to receive a pay check. This work is every bit as difficult to do as a painting and at least people appreciate a painting, a bumper, not so much.

Really great result. What's the longevity of this type of repair? After 2-3 years of exposure to sun, water, cold, will it become visible or the finish start to peel/decay. Or, will it age with the existing plastic and remain invisible?

Epoxy and blue painters tape with a wire structure inside. Drill two tiny holes to poke wire around where tab broke. Use tape to form mold for epoxy to pour. Pour epoxy into form make sure to get wire embedded in epoxy fully. When dry, you can peel tape off sand to clean up rough edges. Then drill hole if you did not form hole with epoxy. Paint black and done. Pretty strong too.
