Suzuki really does know how to make an excellent small car, and the new Ignis is no exception. That's assuming you can deal with the looks. Here's our Mark's take on it. Full review at HonestJohn.co.uk: www.honestjohn...

Just bought one and really pleased with it. Small outside and large inside. Great for around town motoring and the high seat position allows good vision and means I don't have to crouch down to get in. Auto box works well and the car has all the gadgets you could want.

Congratulations on the new motor. Hope you keep enjoying it. The Ignis is great. M.

I remember the SC100 Whizzkid, and here it is reborn, even the blue metallic paint! Good to see it's a decent little car too.

It looks like the Suzuki Whizzkid, that's what the 3 creases in the C pillar are meant to refer to. I personally like the looks but I'm a bloke of 6'6, I'd look ridiculous getting in & out of it, probably driving it too.
@TheKenjoje7 жыл бұрын
he should have said that, it's important....and while original whizzkid from 70s somehow looks ok for japanese car from the era, the new one's rear is ridiculous, which is a shame considering decent front end.... if it was a person, its rear end could be forgiven because of its front end, but unfortunatelly it's a car ;)

It's a cool little car. Am I man enough to have one though?

I'm not sure why you keep knocking the styling because everyone I have shown the car to thinks it is great. Chunky, funky and fun. Just maybe not your kind of car Mark?
@HonestJohncouk20007 жыл бұрын
You're right. Most people I showed it to liked it too. I mustn't be comfortable enough in my own skin. :-) M.

It's cool that the guy driving the Ignis brought his sister in to do the studio part of this video.

Very interested in this car but the automated manual rather than proper auto rules me out. ☹️ Why do car makers even bother with it...?

I kind of take the view that people who 'need' to buy big cars/suv's and posh name badges are rather sad. They are signalling. Virtue signalling. Wealth, influence, even sexiness signalling. That said, some people need big spaces. Then again, some are happy with small spaces. (remember the first Mini.) Now, in 2019, take the Suzuki Ignis. Like the Tardis - you know what I mean. Re men and their virility. Some hate the idea of a small car. There's "the transfer effect". It more or less goes, is there something small 'down there?" Well that's not my problem. Au-contraire. Anyway. I live in Melbourne Australia & have seen several Igni (is that the plural?) around the joint. End story -> I need a very small second shopping car, and that's it. ps. Thanks for your pleasant unassuming, rather humorous, not pompous review on this tiny machine.[ps. it's nearly 2020 & we almost all do auto's down here. Something to do with "the nut behind the wheel."]

Where DO they find these characters?!

Superman is from the DC Universe, a fictional assemblage of aliens and mutants with superhuman characteristics, each usually tasked with subverting a malevolent enemy (often of similar supernatural traits) in order to restore equilibrium to a specific locale. America, generally. Because all the cool stuff happens there. Hope that helps. M.

Carl Griffiths it has a spare actual wheel (not the space-saver one).

I dunno... the name Ignis... seems like it should be an old woman. Don't get me wrong, probably a nice old woman, a bit fussy maybe, but in a good way.
@tomirving98975 жыл бұрын
I don't know where you get the "old woman" thing from. Ignis means "fire" in Latin. That doesn't suggest an elderly lady to me, unless she's warming herself in front of it... :-)

Looks a great little car but the back end is absolutely bloody hideous!
@CosgroveNotts5 жыл бұрын
It's a garbage car in the SZ3 guise . Feel every bump. No seat height adjustment. 1980s heater controls. A radio that's looks like it's just plonked on the dash by some boy racer who loves to devalue his car. Strange flimsy carbon fibre looking cover above the speedo. Horrible black and white interior plastics. Horrible orange bits everywhere in the cabin. Wiper stalk is from the 80s. Lacks traction if you are slightly over enthusiastic setting off. Slightly claustrophobic. Strange drivers seat position. Parts bin special. Positive stuff : good for nipping to be shop in, firm seats. Goes OK on motorway. No idea about noise, just so disappointed that I gave up bothering. Knock a grand off would make it slightly better on the basic model.
