Daikoku is still active in believe, Friday-Sunday! When you go, just be mindful about driving and following the gps, as its really easy to miss the exits and have you pay for more tolls. But yeah man, car culture in japan is great. You should also consider visiting the mountain passes there if you’re thinking of renting a vehicle. Hakone Turnpike is beautiful, if you’re lucky u can see the Mt. Fuji when you get to the top.
