Hope you see this, thinking about your power steering issue and the setup you had with the trunk mounted power steering pump. You should use hard lines instead of soft lines, the slight expansion of the rubber lines over the long length is what's causing loss of pressure at the steering rack. The line length fundamentally should not be an issue if the lines can maintain steering pressure.

For the vented hood: if you haven't already, check out the singular motorsports louvers. I like them enough that I'm considering getting another set now that they come in black anodized. Ryan Passey makes them, and I imagine you've seen his LFX powered Hypermiata.
