Absolutely fantastic Graeme, saving this one for future reference. The amount of detail you've provided in what goes into a full decontamination of the car 👏👏. I was expecially pleased you included some timings of the different processes as a lot of people tell you what to do, show it at 5x speed and say look what I've done without any mention it's just took them 7+hrs. You can't beat the Garage Therapy approach to getting a car ready for any Lsp, they just do the job brilliantly which also helps keep the stress level down when tackling such a big project especially when you've only got a weekend and every minute counts. Looking forward to Part 2, well done again on producing a fantastic video 👏👏

Thanks Paul!, well I hope you get good use out of it mate that’s the whole point of videos like this to be used as a reference aid, GT really has made decontamination easier

Detailed, methodical and perfectly narrated... Excellent demonstration & build up to a process that used to be exclusive to experienced professionals but more and more now can be done at home with no training or certificates required! Already started watching part 2 as I type this 👌🏼

Fantastic video Graeme and a top voice over too. The Skoda I'd going to come up an absolute treat. I'm a tardis man but, I cam definitely see the GT coming to the shelf in the future, albeit, I have some detail bug to try first. Those throw away microfibres are also a good idea, I'll look out for them when doing the shop. All the best buddy. 😊

Thanks Lee!!, you’ll find GT tar a tad slower but one you can leave and go for a brew!, come back and a gentle wipe it’s removing just the same as the aggressive solvents , the detail bug one is A-Chem I’m sure and very similar to Tardis 🤔

@GMDetails is a slower acting formula worse in the hotter weather though, Graeme, I mean, it'll dry before reacting.
@GMDetails6 ай бұрын
@@decker0373 sorry for the late reply , full on with stuff to do before Waxstock I have to test to see what it’ll do in the heat more but from what I’ve used so far it’s thicker and doesn’t seem to dry out the same as solvent based products 🤔

Great Video Graeme.. I find the spray heads that come with GT products, and other brands, fail quite regularly. Always end up replacing them with Tolco spray heads.
@GMDetails6 ай бұрын
Great point! I like them but for things like iron remover and tar remover I’m going to start removing them , I’ve had Tolco ones fail too with alkaline wheel cleaners etc so again it’s all about looking after your equipment 👍

At 17:05, when you said to take a listen to the sound of the pad against the bodywork, I've got to say I was truly taken by surprise. It sounded exactly like the birdies in the trees. On a more serious note, the tips on your stubby gun, are they rubberized or hard plastic?. Are where to purchase? Lastly.. For preparation before a coating, Kamikaze make a superb product for that. Without searching my garage for it I believe it's called Clense. A wax and sealant killer. Enjoyable video btw.

🦅 and 🌳😂 yes, but!!, that was my point, there wasn’t much surface contamination on it , a little but not a lot 🪄 The tips on the nozzles are a real hard rubber and I got them off Ali Express mate, size 040 orifice and stainless steel I’ll check out the Kamikaze product 👌

@@GMDetails I thought that might of been a mistake? As 500 litres per minute is unheard of. A commercial one will do about 40 per min.

Enjoyed that super thorough process Greame, a lot of work! Loved that Angelwax Glide for decon instead of Clay - does it mar the paint?
@GMDetails6 ай бұрын
Thanks Colin!, it’s incredibly gentle on paint but always being mindful of pressure with it and plenty of lube!, I haven’t experienced any marring with it yet but I only tend to use it before polish anyways
