This is a dying art here in America. Nowadays people just buy new radiator and dont even bother removing tanks to clean

Because we use high quality coolant, not water from the stream. .... also most modern day cars don't even need a radiator replacement in their lifetime. And they are just as cheap to replace as it would be to repair.

It's a "dying art" because 1. FIrst world countries use coolant instead of dirty water from a pond so the gunk doesnt build up as much and the only reason to replace it is physical damage which is way harder to fix 2. We pay people actual wages and getting an american or german citizen to work cleaning a radiatior costs more than making a new one

It’s like rebuilding a starter or alternator. The math doesn’t add up. R&R starter = 1 HR 80 Parts 200 total $280. Rebuild = 2-3 HR 160-240 Parts 40 total $200-280. The car is also taking up more time on the lift losing your company money and the warranty is now on your rebuild and not a manufacturer part.

Replacing the radiator is not an option in most 3rd world countries as the parts just aren't available or would be very expensive (and slow to receive).

Why was someone filling radiator with dirty water in a first place? There is special collant that is sold. Not only its better than water for cooling but also lasts longer and leaves no rust.

Saya pemilik bengkel baiki dan cuci radiator.. Selama saya mencuci radiator pelbagai jenis kereta inilah pertama kali saya lihat banyak batu halus melekat dia atas penutup radiator.. Air apakah yang pemandu itu guna untuk radiatornya.. Paling kotor saya cuci cuma berkarat saja. Itu normal.. 😂

@@cout879 Hi. Thankyou for your reply. Yes it must have a lot inside the engine. Those deposits are really bad for water pump. I bought a diesel and everytime when the engine warmed up and the thermostat opened it would make a really bad rubbing noise for a couple of minutes when the deposits that had sunk to the bottom of block and radiator started moving. Luckily I cleaned the radiator and block and now it doesn't make that noise anymore. Respect and best wishes from Australia to you and your family.

If the radiator is in this condition, what does the engine, water pump, thermostat and any other components look like? Best to use distilled water if coolant not available… but best practice is to use coolant or coolant concentrate diluted with distilled water.
