I can see sheets of water being used as near invisible barriers in races, almost like a random or scripted feature. Make the races far more nerve wracking when you’re ripping out of a turn on a perfect line, only to see that faint shimmer of fluid death in front of you. Do you slow down more to cut in front? Speed up and try to get behind it? Take the damage and truck it through? Make a choice! Aaand you pretty much drank an Oktoberfest worth of water into your radiator and upholstery. Your air vents will have a hundred and fifty percent humidity all the way back to the mechanics shop. Nice race. Get used to being called DNF (did not finish) until your next season.

by giving it a more round shape, and a somewhat shorter radius, it would be a lot more effective for the "speed bump" aspect, that is, if the goal were to slow down drivers safely, but if your going for a few broken ribs or a concussion or 2, then this is perfect.

Ah surface tension. funny thing is, going fast enough, this would happen. Hydroplaning works upwards too. not a bad idea honestly.
@jeremiah._.hamman92552 жыл бұрын
A hydroplane speedbump is an interesting idea, it would have to be at least a centimeter recessed section of water tight road filled with liquid. During the winter it becomes ice which should encourage slow driving, in the warmer climates you could turn it off to prevent excessive use of water due to the heat. In warmer climates I could see this actually being viable as it would be off most of the year so the water usage wouldn’t actually be as bad. But when it is on it works damn well. The concept of a controlled and forced hydroplane is interesting.
@alexaristale2 жыл бұрын
@@jeremiah._.hamman9255 only issue is if you drive TOO slow, you might waterlog the engine, or at the very least fry the electrical system (ever wonder why almost no one tries to fix a flood salvage car? That’s why). I’ll need to look into this more, this is actually something that might be possible to make without damaging the vehicle.
@ohnaw2232 жыл бұрын
