Honestly, the infotainment really isn't that bad after you've used it for a bit. My Dad's RX uses the exact same system and it actually works quite decently, much better than the system in my Mum's 2015 C Class.

I wonder if this criticism is a product of right hand drive cars? I know the North American reviewers don’t much like it either, but surely it must be harder if it’s your “off” hand using it. I heard you can adjust sensitivity too which makes a big difference?

The thing about the infotainment system. They shouldn't be given for review to people who can't get around their smartphone,let alone that. I remember the fuzz about the first IDrive,and my brother in law got his 7 series,I found it easy as walk in the park. Some people need assistance for writing a damn email on their phone,and then complaining about the UI in the cars. Put your 6 yr old kids in that car,and I assure you,they put you to shame.

Fully agreed, plus who bloody complains about too many buttons? Was he for real? Buttons are best in cars, I don't want to be messing around with touch panels when I'm driving a 2 tonne vehicle... Argh journalists like him are the reason we have cars with stupid controls.

Definitely a sleeper, a wolf in sheep's clothing, the BEST bang for buck Lexus built for mass consumption, and totally under consumed by those seeking power matched with build quality mated to pleasure, it's truly found squarely in Japanese car architecture inside this most underrated car . Sad to see it move on from the Lexus line up.

Regarding the grill. Opinions on appearance are a matter of taste. The grill has been characterized as Darth Vader-esque. However, some say that Vader's helmet is actually based on Nazi design. I suggest that the Lexus grill is instead inspired by the samurai uniforms/helmets of old. From this perspective, this family of grills makes sense as Toyota's homage to this respected tradition. Functionally, this grill design allows versatile approaches to ventilation while maintaining a standard appearance for the family line.

wax333 BMW has superior performance and styling the F90 M5 generation. However, Lexus has the design and build quality to handle over 250,000 miles while the BMW would struggle to make it to 75,000 miles without having significant mechanical issues.

You guys will really be doing your credibility no favours if you are serious in what you say, normally aspirated is because latest turbocharging technology is not Toyota Lexus’s forte, that’s the reason don’t you think?
@ciello___83075 жыл бұрын
Well they do have turbo engines now. What makes the GS F stand out is its singing, high revving V8, which most of its counterparts no longer have.
@lbarbato64255 жыл бұрын
Skye Higa 2 lt turbo yes, Lexus engines can not seriously be compared to AMG 4lt bi turbo v8, BMW M 4.4lt bi turbo V8 and Audi’s offerings let alone BMW M 3lt bi turbo engines. If you know Chris Harris, he once commented, Lexus IS 10 years behind the Germans, their engines just don’t have torque when you need it in track work which these high performance cars should have and be good on a race track, that’s why you buy them, big smile on your face even just quick squirts on a highway, Lexus just doesn’t have that and guess what, if rumours are true, Lexus may be use BMW V8,s in the future but not the M performance drive trains. Just like the Supra using non BMW M drive trains.
@ciello___83075 жыл бұрын
Leo Barbato i dont know where you got that rumour from. I doubt it, especially since lexus just released a turbo v6 with the new LS
@lbarbato64255 жыл бұрын
The IS may be using the Supra Engine, BMW single twin scroll turbo engine along with the entire drive train. It may not be good business for Toyota to design engines thus use / partner with other manufactures this being BMW. Time will tell if they use the BMW V8’s or wether BM want to supply their state of the art engines / out source.
