Finally,a detailed,non biased reviewer,who doesn't focus on drag times and how fast the infotainment system is. And not paid by the big manufacturers to advertise their crap.Lexus is all about the build quality and perfection,not splitting second times and drag times,which in real world count..Not. No fucks were given. In a rolls royce with great attention to detail you can use the infotainment actually. In this car the infotainment is a pain to live with. Drag times are also done to see how it goes against his competitors. Now i would agree that drag races aren't that important and this car is fast enough,but infotainment must be good in a car.

When I bought my TSX I was fooled by Motor Trend magazine who praised the car like it was the second coming. Few years later after the shiny wire off, I started to see the crappy paint job and sloppy structural rigidity for what it was. I picked the TSX over its at the time Japanese rival; a Lexus IS350 AWD, and I wish I hadn’t done that. Lexus knows quality like no other manufacturer.
@nickhayesreviews5 жыл бұрын
That's really interesting, I own an 07 Accord Euro and have had none of those issues. My paint looks pretty much new apart from the hairline scratches from kids over the years. The overall structural rigidity of my car still feels almost like the day the car was bought. The only real issue that I've had with mine is a extremely annoying whining noise just before the car shifts up a gear which developed about 5 years after I bought it.
@psewgobind5 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of the TSX, when a regular Honda can do it just as good or better.
@Soh905 жыл бұрын
Nick Hayes You’re lucky. I’ve developed a rust issue on the inner parts of the doors. I have a 6 Speed Manual and had to replace the transmission as well. Other parts that have failed was the A/C fan, entire power steering system, seized calipers, TPMS system, passenger door lock, and other minor lighting elements inside have stopped working (some lights and back light to some switches). Overall the TSX is not a luxury car. Not even entry level. It’s is now clear to me that Acura is the *performance* division of Honda and not the so called “luxury” division as people want them to be. The TSX is a great performance car. Out of all the issues, the engine hasn’t skipped a beat and still zips to it’s 7,600 rpm limit, but the IS350 was the car I was looking for, not the TSX. I did not text drive either car and that was my mistake. Years later I rode in a 2008 IS350 and my goodness the quality was far better. Not even close lol. Oh well, water under the bridge.

@Mark Nicholls Agree. Lexus is a logical step from the best of Toyota's legendary reliability and build, ramping that up to another level of quality and luxury, just as the 'LuxuryEXportUS' implies, seemingly the perfect and logical conclusion. Sadly, badge snobs abound, and I can't see this changing any time soon. However, LEXUS is noted by most if not all as a luxury badge. Even the price helps here. My post was simply a satirical take on the grille. Still, looking at the demographic of 'high wealth individuals', I rate that while the Germans win, taken on individual auto makers, Lexus does hold its place as a significant luxury vehicle player. Also generally true is that the demographic of which I speak rarely buy their car or keep it past three years (ie. with their 'hard earned cash') and as you probably know, use "auto badge social/wealth class signalling" as a status tool. [my ironic take. if a 'polished turd' was perceived as "hyper desirable" to such people, they would acquire it and proudly put on display.]

In your world, Lexus is a company that puts quality into their cars with an amazing v8 and etc. But honestly, the German auto market sees Lexus, Infiniti, Acura, as a complete joke. Reason why you may ask? Where has Lexus been in Motorsport? Oh right, nowhere. Sure Toyota has had its go arounds in Motorsport, but with very little success. Companies like BMW and Porsche were born in Motorsport. That is the reason why they are simply better at making a pure driver’s car than Lexus is, Infiniti is, Acura is, etc. We can go on all day about how the Acura NSX goes from 0-60 in less than 3 seconds but after it hits 80 mph, struggles like a front wheel drive car. Let’s also not forget to mention that Mercedes Benz assembles the V8s in every Lexus F model with a V8. The only car Lexus has fully built powertrain-wise is the LFA, which is a unicorn of a car in 2019, and a car I have a profound respect for. The LC500, you thought the motor was designed by Lexus/Toyota? Nope wrong. Mercedes Benz makes that engine. Just do some thorough research and you’ll find that out. Mercedes AMG also makes the boost system for the Aston Martin DB11, a car that should have had a naturally aspirated V12, but since they couldn’t build a twin turbo setup for it, they called up AMG and set up a deal with them. Simple. In the A45 and CLA45, as well as the CLA and GLA 250, the motor is a Nissan motor. The single turbo is from Mercedes Benz. Interesting how this works right? With Porsche, they make everything. Same with bmw. Audi gets their stuff from Volkswagen and vice versa, but they’re not using a completely separate manufacturer to make parts for them to cut corners and save money, which is something Lexus exceeds at. Sure they’re reliable cars, but if you want an all out sports car or want to compare Lexus to the German auto market, I can guarantee you that no Lexus will ever surpass a BMW, which is in the same price range, in their sports models. Also, BMWs hold their value slightly better than any Lexus. Not sure why, but after doing a considerable amount of research a few months back, I found this out comparing cars like the M4 to the RC F, the M5 to the IS F, and so on. Also let’s not forget the RC F “track” edition, with less than 100lbs of weight reduction, and a small boost in power, it still can be outran by the M4 GTS, and even the M4 CS that doesn’t even have a rear spoiler. Let’s not forget the GTS came out over 3 years ago as well. Like I said, sure you can think Lexus is pristine and perfect with the way they make their cars, but at the end of the day, Lexus just doesn’t have the build quality of any German auto maker. Don’t even let me get started on the comparison to the Scandinavian market, ahem Volvo, who are making in-line 5 cylinder motors as well as is Audi. Proud to be an owner of a 5 cylinder. But anyways, Lexus is just too pricey in comparison to bmw with the difference in build and drive quality of both manufacturers’ cars. And also, let’s not forget that Lexus has been using other manufacturers to help build their sports models as well. BMW M does not resort to that, neither does Audi RS, neither does Mercedes AMG (unless in rare cases). Lexus F cannot be said the same about that. Sad. Anyways, well, nice video after all. Can’t wait to reply to all the butthurt Lexus fanboy keyboard warriors out there in the replies section. Have a nice evening

The F engines (2UR-GSE) were co engineered with Toyota and Yamaha. German cars especially the new ones are ridiculous reliability and quality wise. I´m from Germany and heard stories of blown BMW engines at 50k kms (30k miles), shaky center consoles in S CLASSES and oil burning Audi engines, just a few examples. Sadly even Toyota/Lexus quality is slowly going downhill.
