This car is in Australia will start at $37,000AUD (23,600€) and go upward with extra's/options from there. Considering that in Australia, the average income is more than most European countries, this car will be quite affordable for us. I really feel sorry for the euro guys and the stupid taxes your countries put on cars and CO2 taxes. I'm currently in Finland and this car is 43,000€ here DOUBLE the amount of what Aussie's will be getting it for. Shame.

I love the whole philosophy behind this car, in terms of the way it's been developed and the priorities that were chosen. It is, when all is said and done, a collection of fairly ordinary components, but which have been specified very carefully, and then set up by a team led by one of the most talented automotive development engineers around today. The brief wasn't to get embroiled in the increasingly pointless dick waving exercise that is bhp and performance numbers, but to produce a car that is quick enough, fun to drive, and which doesn't need the driving skills of Chris Harris to get the best out of. And let's face it, if we are honest, far more of us will benefit from a planted, confidence inspiring set up with bags of feel than something edgier and snappier. In many cases, we aren't as good drivers as we think we are.

I hope this first N car does well to give Hyundai the confidence to target the 45-65k sport performance market in future models. In particular a sub 5sec 0-100km, 350+hp AWD model. As more choices needed in this price range to compete with the GolfR, WRX sti, Focus RS & Audi S3. The other notable mentions are the A45 AMG & Audi RS3 but come at a hefty premium outside 65k.
@georgemavrides34346 жыл бұрын
The engine is there already and power the AWD Kia Stinger which is priced around 50k (with a 7-year warranty!). Such a powertrain in an i30N will make it as fast, but cheaper, than R, STI and S3s with aftermarket tuning packages while still maintaining factory warranties. Hopefully Biermann is listening :)

@miatand11566 жыл бұрын
Of course they could. They have been making very impressive cars for many years. They may be moving into an area they have not really competed in too much previously but they know what they're doing manufacturing many mechanical, interior parts and even steel sheets in house. Thank god some other car makers don't try this as they rely on after market companies to get a less than prefect result. Hyundai have passion and a great work ethic. I really think they are the new benchmark whilst cars like mercedes, land rover etc are the new industry joke and really only people who are unable to have a second thought are still thinking Hyundai and Kia are anything but Brilliant.
