Another typical "I love Holden and ford" review. I've been reading/watching these reviews since the 70's, and nothing has changed. The 2 sedans are nice but, with today's SUV following morons, they're irrelevant. As for the mustang, 2 door coupes have a very short shelf life in Australia. Best thing to do, take a car you like for a decent test drive and find the one that puts a smile on your face.

As far as I understand, Falcons and Commodores were built tougher than American cars to deal with the Australian environment better. Taking a possibly lesser built car and putting it in the outback might leave you missing you local made cars in the long run.

Ike There's nothing "tougher" about Australia. There's states in America more extreme than anywhere in Australia.
@ike7807 жыл бұрын
I don't doubt that but in Australia, the heat gets extreme and most of the time a car has to travel longer distances over un kept roads so it would be harder on a road car. Many of our harsh places are where an ATV or SUV comes in.

@rickyjulian24999 жыл бұрын
robbyjai My bias? Haha, no. It was clearly a bias by the reviewer, who conveniently didn't talk about any of transmissions. It's not my opinion on the transmission being better it's a fact, the Chrysler transmission is used in Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maserati, BMW and Range Rover. The 6 speeds in the Holden and Ford are crap in comparison
@robbyjai9 жыл бұрын
Ricky Julian doesnt mean shit. provide me some factual proof that their transmissions are better. if u had half a brain you would know each company implements different software to the transmissions and how it behaves. just because it uses the same hardware doesnt mean it uses the same software. the software is tuned by the automative manufacturer to shift in a specific way inline with the tune of the car. that difference alone will dictate whether one transmission is better than the other. you're pretty ignorant and narrow minded not to know that very basic fact

Not a fan of the SRT I drove one they really do suck at turning and city driving guzzles more fuel then the Holden and Mustang and the mustang sways side to side at high speeds it starts swaying about 180-210 kph between there but the Holden is perfect and the ford falcon the car cant be fairly compared it has not evolved since the FG its still the same with some differences

From what I have gathered the Mustang has been a grey market import over there for years...they just cost a fortune.

Found it a bit weird they only got 5.6 seconds 0-100 out of the mustang since it’s advertised at reaching those speeds in 4.8 and even with my old man’s manual managed to get 4.7 That nearly a whole entire second slower compared to what these boys got. Bad driving? Just thought that was worth mentioning. By the way the FM Mustang 6 speed autos are terrible definitely stick to a manual or get the FN Mustang with the 10 speed

In truth, people only want to bring up pony cars to try sound special about this term. You just make yourself look like an idiot crying about what else a muscle car can be classified as.

At least americans can actually put a decent amount of power for the engines the cars have the mustang has around the same power as the commodore but its got 1.2 litres less than the commodore i think they should have used either the 325 or 340 hsv ls3 for the commodore but for some reason they didnt :/

Own a 2016 SSV Red line, and although it is a great car, the biggest disappointment is Holden NEVER fixed the rear seat vibration issue if you have the windows down. Not in any model, make or series.....if you have the windows down, you get a migraine. Very disappointing as they spent billions in design over 4 decades and couldn't fix it. Plus the sunroof has no wind buffer and is starting to move the roof lining when open. Very disappointing indeed.

That is not just on this car. Most of the ones I own do this. Roll a front one down and this stops it

Easy decision. I'd avoid anything Chrysler these days. The new Fiat owned Chrysler has no customer loyalty and has a history of not standing by its product. It's a Chrysler so it will have issues. Now do you want to gamble if They will fix it under warranty?

mustangs in aus are cool.. but its not a replacement for the falcon.. 2 doors :( and wow i get less road noise in my fg ute.. for 60k its pretty average inside and out. vf all the way. the Chrysler has big numbers on paper but thats the end of that. my 270kw beats its "350"kw everytime

Fingers crossed....if Holden are in talks with Chevrolet about a "Halo Car" coming our way, the Corvette is coming in 2018. ....so I will wait. Mustang would never be comparable to a Corvette....historically in the US it never has nor will it ever. Good bye Mustang.

HSV tuned the LS3 to at least 317kw and up to 340kw for the SV range. Holden could only managed 304kw? Why don't Holden just unleash the full power of the LS3? After all, this is their last ever SSV so who cares about fuel economy.

I dont know about everyone, but to me, the new tail light of the commodore looks like something a ricer would do but i still love the front end look of it, the mustang looks good on the net, but in real life (saw one at fairfield) its looks rather ugly... the chrysler looks exactly the same as it did before which is quite ugly as well, but i do love the gauge! In the end, i would rather buy a hsv, an lexus is350 or rc350 or rc200t. P.S Yes i am a holden fan but i would rather buy the new ford xr6 over the mustang which looks really nice on the exterior. looks sort of like a jaguar!

Why buy a car with a performance engine with a slush box stuck behind it sapping the soul out of it? I'd rather drive a manual base model Ford Focus.
