Nice emotive review. Proper exhaust/engine sound was great, unlike 90% of other online reviews who use basic microphones (if any, other than a go-pro microphone). The kid summed the car up best. Saving my pennies to upgrade my 2010 redline...

In 2024 I've now driven maybe 20 different cars (it's a job thing). The loud blinkers are a feature not a bug when you drive on rough, loud Aussie tarmac, especially in the bush. And the horn is tuned for how you use a horn most of the time: For telling people to move off on a green light, or to stop backing out into you etc. It's a nice soft toot instead of a BEEEP! that instantly causes road rage. A little "PARP" doesn't make anyone angry. Someone thought about this horn. NGL I do miss air horns on sedans though. My dad's 1980 Falcon had an air horn. When we were 7-8, we thought it was the absolute best.

Your excellent review was a significant factor in me grabbing one of these a couple of months ago, thank you! And you nailed it. This is an absolutely brilliant car! I too, came from a fairly amazing German performance machine and the Redline pretty much puts it to shame in most areas. If I had the garage space I would seriously consider buying another one next year for "safe keeping" lol. Amazing value, amazing quality, amazing sound OMG. I agree with all of the points you made and have actually corrected one of the negatives - if you go sideways at full tilt around corners then you can't hear the indicator sound :-) Just kidding, I always drive responsibly on public roads. Though I still haven't got over the phase of burying my right foot whenever possible, and probably never will haha. Thanks again mate, reviews such as these are really valuable and I applaud you for taking the time and effort. Here she is :) A few cosmetic changes but there's very little you need to do to such a great car. Very unhappy the plant is shutting down. I'm in the US AND I consider myself lucky to have owned the VE (Pontiac g8)for 7 years and now the VF2(Chevy ss) as of two days ago. I told my dealer if deal didn't go through I'd just keep the G8. Thanks for the great cars OZ!

BUt once I know they're closing down that's when I started the process of moving on. there are better options out there. There are plenty of fish in the pond.

I like this new model,I've had two ss's in the past and presently own a WRX 2015 but what frustrates me about this model is that it doesn't have a CD player and the rear seats don't fold down for carrying oversize items.Love the sound though and enjoy your videos,keep them coming.

Hi again,checked out the Mustang at the local dealership yesterday,looks awesome in the flesh!Took a 2.3 eco boost for a spin but there was a fair bit of traffic around so it was difficult to get a good feel for it,they didn't have a gt for me to demo but will have one in about two weeks which I will try then.Have you driven the manual gt yet as that is the model I will opt for I think and are curious to fing out how the gearbox is?If you haven't you should come down this way (Hamilton) and test it on some good country roads!Cheers.

I also own a VF SSV LS3 but not in the redline. I can hear squeaky noises come from the under carriage of the vehicle. It is most likely the bimodal because last night as I turned the car off I heard the noise. any reason for this when the car has done 7000 km

You are only partially right with the unions Ben. The main reasons why are: 1/ GM US went bankrupt and because they were forced to restructure Holden Australia was one of it’s subsidiary’s that had to go. 2/ Our Federal Government namely Tony Abbott Prime Minister and Joe Hockey Treasurer who stopped all subsidies to Holden and Ford Australia unlike some countries like Germany, United States, and United Kingdom who all subsidise their car manufacturers with millions of dollars. 3/ Dropping Tariffs on Imported Cars consequently lowering the price of new cars built overseas including your Subaru’s The Skoda range of cars is built in the Czech Republic and they have a total population of 10.1 million people, so what is Australia’s excuse. We had a very good manufacturing system here until our governments stuffed it up. I am retired now and have seen a lot happen over the last 66 years.
