Caramel Pound Cake from scratch

New Orleans native Charlie Andrews demonstrates how to make a homemade Caramel pound cake. The caramel is added into the cake batter and also swirled into the batter before baking. After the cake is baked, a butter vanilla caramel glaze is poured right on top before serving. You can get 20 or more servings from this cake. It has a wonderful caramel flavor, and it's absolutely delicious. Hope you all will give this recipe a try.

Quick tip- Instead of adding the 1/3 cup of caramel into the wet ingredients shown in the recipe. After the batter is made, pour all the caramel into the batter and fold it into the batter with a spatula. Make sure you save 1 tablespoon of caramel for the icing. You can also double the recipe for the caramel if you want to add more of it into the batter. Then proceed to add it into your Bundt pan and bake it as instructed. Also keep in mind the more caramel you add, the more flavor. You can also use candied caramel (You'll have to melt it of course) and caramel in a jar or bottle instead of making it from scratch. Collard greens with the smoked neckbones with the cornbread on the side. I'll post the link to that video below. Yes, you can definitely make the caramel darker by simply letting the sugar and water mixture simmer for more than 8 to 10 minutes. You must keep an eye out on it to make sure the caramel doesn't burn. You can also buy caramel already pre-made and if you can get it in a darker color, that will also work as well. Looks amazing! I invert my pound cakes at 10-12 minutes. If I let mine stay in the pan for 3-4 hours, I don't think mine would come out! 😅

That's understandable. Some people have mentioned the same thing about removing the cake out of the pan at the 10 - to 12-minute mark. I like to let mine cool, possibly until the next day before I remove it. Bake one day, frost, and serve the next day. Thanks for sharing!

Hey there!! Happy Mondayyy to you as well. I am doing well and hope you are too. As far as chicken goes, you may want to buy some boneless skinless chicken thighs from the grocery store. I always use Manda brand andouille smoked sausage. That's all I can suggest. If you find other brands of andouille smoked sausage and it's a good quality smoked sausage, use that as well. Hey there! Several factors play a role. Baking spray or coating used to spray your baking pan. The temperature of your kitchen, if it's cold, it can cause the cake to adhere to the sides. Letting the cake sit in the baking pan for too long. Not adding enough baking spray or coating in the baking pan. It can also be due to the quality of your baking pan as well. Lower quality baking pans can wear and over time, the cake can continuously stick to your baking pan.
