Yum!!!! I have a remark on the cabbage pie: here in Europe we always add caraway seeds to cabbage dishes -as it helps alleviate bloating, which cabbage tends to give. Plus the flavor goes so well. Thanks for all your wonderful pies this month and the beautiful presentation thereof!

When you first mentioned there would be a month of pies I was sort of mystified. I thought, well, okay, won't be terribly interesting for me but it is what it is. Well was I wrong. I thought it was totally fun. Found out about a lot of new pies so got to live vicariously through the KNORPPS! And you're right, one doesn't think too much about your having to actually come up with all these recipes Megan and DO them! So hats off to you. You pulled it off beautifully and there really was something almost historic about your month of pies. Does that make any sense? Not necessarily in the pies you chose, but in the sense of your making them. When one thinks about all the hundreds of years people (probably mostly women) have been doing just that...MAKING them! So it was tons of fun. Watching the "kids" (sorry teenagers) appraising each and every pie etc. How proud should EVE be that she pretty much tried every pie! Go forth and conquer Eve! I got lots of chuckles over the various reactions from the family. I still stand by what I've ben saying in previous comments that Pearl, should she want it, has a career in food criticism ahead of her. And behind every great woman there is a man (isn't that the saying? LOL) and there was Mike tasting away and offering his fatherly words of food wisdom. But of course, I must save my final words for the pie maker herself. Megan. Great job Megan. Your month of pies is almost surrealistic in a way. It's like an art project besides it being a food project. Three cheers for the pie master herself!

Needless to say I am so sad to see this series go away but will be excited to see what you come up with next. I am going to make this pie because I absolutely love caramel and pumpkin. I make homemade toffee every Christmas for gifts and getting that perfect color and texture is an art form - I usually throw out the first batch because it just doesn't set up right. Megan, kudos to you for trying to make caramel three times. I think two would have been my limit. (Okay, maybe one.) I kept expecting you to pull out the "just in case" store-bought caramel, but you never did! The pie looked beautiful and was a fun twist on a traditional pumpkin pie. Today I made my first Apple tart. It’s a small one cause I only had two granny Smith apples. The recipe said three apples, but I use what I had follow directions went ahead and took leftover pie dough cut out put it in the middle a ghost and then made leaves to go around it, I’ll have a little bit of it tonight for dessert. I hope it works out and if it does, I’ll be getting an 8 inch tart ins a pie. Thank you. Your pies looks so good.❤
