I installed one of these about a year ago and, I absolutely love it!! My car has a fused inlet on the positive side, making it nearly impossible to run an aftermarket stereo. I really didn't want to have to cut the OEM negative terminal so this came in handy for that as well. Still gotta finish doing the big 3 upgrade though.

I wish when i replaced mine years ago that they had these. They seem pretty amazing and time savers. The only thing i would change would be to allow the post to be mounted on either side so you would be able to keep symmetry but that would be for the ultra picky. If I ever add a system or anything I will definitely be looking for these for sure

Hey CarAudioFabrication guy, first of thank you for this video. The gadget you demonstrated might be what I need (have been looking for). Here's my issue (feed back would be greatly appreciated), I installed a CB radio and I wired it directly to the battery (red to positive, black to negative) the radio worked fine with no issues for about a two years. Lately the radio (which I turn off when not in use), has started to drain my battery. At first (after having a dead battery four or five times in a span of a week), I thought my battery was just old and needed to be replaced. I replaced the battery and the very next morning I needed to jump start my car again. So I disconnected my CB from the battery and it is now powered via a cigarette lighter power adapter and I've had no more issues with a dead car battery since I took this action. I don't like having the CB powered through the cigarette lighter adapter, it looks tacky and I dislike having to plug and unplug all the time. I liked having the CB powered directly to the battery. Will this gadget keep my CB from draining my battery?
@shimes4245 жыл бұрын
No it won't help. What you need to do is tap into the ignition 12v+ (has 12v+ when car is on). Wire that 12v ignition lead into a relay, and that relay will switch on/off with the vehicle. You "could" power the radio directly from that 12v+ ignition wire, but the relay isolates the radio from the car's computer wiring. Instead of having to power a CB radio, the ignition wire will only have to power a little electromagnetic switch. Also, make sure to put a snubber diode on the relay coil. Poorly designed computers can be damaged by the voltage spike of the relay coil.

The problem with a lot of OEM wires is that they make a 90 degree turn down the side. So, putting the OEM wire on the side would now propose an issue where the 90 degree turn from the stock harness is not going to fit. A nice concept, but not sure how many stock applications would allow for this.

@@ArtistryLawnCare Is there room to screw in post adapters into the side terminal battery , adapters on the cables and connect wires ? Or put a top post battery in with adapters on the cables ? It depends on the room and if your original cables reach . Otherwise , you may go to a top post with new cables , depending on room .

These are great. I’ve had them for a few months and are the best I’ve ever used. I’ve had kicker, nvx, tsunami, and a few others. The quality is there and the ease of installation is easy. A must buy, never skimp on your power connections and wire, that’s the “veins” of your build.
@jamesorr12006 жыл бұрын
Right on. I've wondered about these terminals because I have the fused link! Thanks for demoing them. My fused link is offset 90 degrees to the side of the battery just like the one you pictured, and I've wondered if it's possible to use the side post location just because of how things would be oriented.

I bought these a while back. Used them plus a good amount of 4ga to redo all of the stock power runs from the battery to the fuse box, as well as the stock grounds. Might have been overkill but it's a Honda and they really skimp out on the power/ground wiring.
@ryanfahey6406 жыл бұрын
I have the POS and NEG versions, both with the OEM post adapters. They work great and don't come loose. I did wish there were more options for where to put the post, it was difficult to get the positive terminal connected. Something I just thought about. If you need another 4 gauge run, and retain factory wiring, you can slip a copper lug terminal in between the battery terminal and side battery post.
@emo65170.6 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't they be mirror images of each other so that the posts end up on the outside of the battery?
@knukonceptz16 жыл бұрын
Using Mark's photo as reference, you can spin the negative 180 degrees, placing the post on the outside of the battery. Not all batteries have P and N in the same orientation. These are a universal fit item and some modifications maybe required to fit every application
@emo65170.6 жыл бұрын
KnuKonceptz Ah, I see. Thanks for the quick reply. They definitely look beefy. Perhaps in a future revision you could make the terminal set screws accessible from the top and bottom so they could be used in both orientations. Thanks again.
@phillipcraggs62026 жыл бұрын
But if you spin the terminal around the wires are pointing in the opposite direction. Not very clean looking or well thought out. I wouldn't buy it just for that reason. I'm sure these thing aren't cheap, wouldn't be that hard to mass produce a mirror image of the negative terminal.
@andy118946 жыл бұрын
just because i seen your reply do you guys ship to the uk at all?
@firebirdude26 жыл бұрын
Phillip Craggs+ As Knu said, some vehicles have the P and N posts reversed. And remember that P and N posts are not the same size either. So they'd need FOUR different mirrored models and then would need to educate the buyer on which works best in which vehicle. Point being, it's not for everybody. If you don't like it, don't buy it. I can say it because I don't work for them. LOL

@speedwayaudio32 жыл бұрын
I just installed these today. Don't like them as much as I thought I would. First off, all the set screws are on the bottom. So, if you want to remove a single wire you have to remove the whole unit. Second the threads were not cut well had to run a tap down each port to clean them up. Third the rubber covering gets in the way when installing wires. Now I did not hate them they do work. They are just more hassle than they should be to install. I did like the way they grip the posts on the battery. Very solid grip. Also, after cleaning up the threads the set screws had a nice firm grip on the wires as well. Not total junk just could use a little re-engineering.

Could I just put some 0 gauge wire on a ring terminal between the gold post and the ultimate terminal?

I installed these on my car and they look super clean. I really like the side terminal to attach my oem battery wiring. Only qualm I have is the fasteners on the bottom of the unit. It's a PITA to take it completely off the battery terminal and flip it over to access the hex screws. Why didn't they position them on the top?? I still like them but seriously, redesign this with the allen fasteners on the TOP so you don't have to disconnect it when swapping wires out.

You know with the braiding you use for the 0 awg, 4 awg, 8awg cable, what size is the braiding you use? I want to order some but not sure which size to buy? Also I have taken to using the wire ferrules as it’s so much easier than trying to use bare wire on to the positive and negative terminals on a battery clamp. It’s ingenious! Would a copper insert work for a loose terminal? It’s tightened all the way but still very loose.

Could you tell me what part was used on the end of the 0 and 4 gauge wire. It looks like you have some kind of connector crimped on those wires
