Ah, so sad. Sorry for the loss. My loss, however, was straining to listen to crash dialog because of 4 notes being repeated for almost 15. Minutes, drowning out the conversation . Didn’t care about the aircraft at the end. Just stop the torture!!

Sorry about the loss of a gorgeous airplane, but what a spectacular crash! And you have it on video, too. Farmers around where I live have a real problem with people trampling their crops. I hope yours was understanding or at least unaware.
@tomgiorgini9154 Жыл бұрын
that's the correct thought no thought of offering the farmer twenty bucks for damage just hope he is unaware of you in his field trampling around instead of cleaning it up and getting out in a timely fashion
@lamarw7757 Жыл бұрын
Where did you see the crash? All I saw, was the peice of wing fluttering down.
@drukawski Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure who hanger 9 has building their planes but if you have a chance to see their uncovered airframe the first thing you notice is how conservative they are with glue and basswood. You can't trust the super glue hinges either, but that's a problem that might not show up for a few years. All of the ARTF/RTF stuff I've bought is the same way. Rebuild, reinforce, recover, and refly bud!
@drukawski Жыл бұрын
Watched at 1080p, 50% speed. You can see the wingtip just inside the leading edge light flex then sheer off around the wing strut. It's really hard to tell, but did you have the flaps going as well? Maybe as flaperons/flap-aileron mix? If you are looking for aerobatic planes that size look at the Legacy Aviation line from ExtremeFlightRC. Pretty popular at my field but I can't afford to fly/lose anything bigger than an 80" seagull models.

Pretty sure Phoenix model in Vietnam builds H9 planes. Not sure this exact one but in a recent video from the Phoenix model factory, there were a stack of H9 planes waiting to ship out.

i rarely seen cub kits where as there was not enough (meat) in the strut attatchment point in the wing. Meaning i had to add my own material to where i thought is was good,,,and arf kits are even worse...

It's an ARF Almost Ready to Fail, built in China, on an assembly line. I've recovered a few ARF airplanes. They are not glued very well.
@judd_s5643 Жыл бұрын
Can’t tell if he was pulling G’s or if he had aileron cranked in but the failure was right at the beginning of the aileron. Some full size planes have restriction on aileron inputs under high g loads. He may have caused the damage earlier in the routine and vibration etc. caused it to finally let go.
@lamarw7757 Жыл бұрын
That's also where the wing struts attach.
@itzjoeylo4501 Жыл бұрын
The NTSB has determined that running up the engine in pre-flight placing excessive point loads on each side of each wing, instead of supporting the tail or the fuselage has caused the fatal wing spar to explode under G load. I bet after reading this comment you’ll never run up another RC Aircraft again like that.

I watch the other video of this CRASH and I have flown models for close to 60 years and there is one thing that I have Learned over the years is that ALL AIRPLANES models or full scale have a MEMORY of the stress that they endured and over time that stress adds up untill something BREAKS and it look like this airplane was overstressed one time too many!

A scale plane needs to be flown in a scale fashion. That crash is a 100% pilot induced event from very poor pilot in command flying. Every single one of the maneuvers shown could have been performed with less power and at slower air speed. Poor PIC decision making caused the crash, not the construction of the aircraft model.

Maybe you should send the video to the manufacturer and see if they will give you a replacement!

Yeh there is much to be said for high performance flying and wing loading for me a cub style aircraft that is balsa should be flown in scale type manner- unless u have reinforced the spare and wing ribs to do high performance maneuvers just my opinion
