Guys working out the desired parameters of complete systems before any investment of of real world commodities. This is planning at it's finest! Thank you, Mike for sharing your vision! You and others are inspiring me to get back into my true passion General Aviation (GA)! Been away since 2000 and that's too long! I'm an experienced lofting plug producer that has worked off of line drawings for composite fiberglass molds. Primarily for the marine industry. Electric marine propulsion has been a focus for me since 2015. I believe that electric aircraft propulsion is the future. I need a test stand and aviation prop to work with. I've worked out on paper and ink how to power an electric aircraft motor system of about 180 HP equivalent for up to 6 hour runtimes. Though Rolls Royce and Siemens has been teasing the market. I believe my 1.5 KW MoGen system will scale up without much problem. I'm discovering a large community is cocked and loaded to really manifest our cradled visions to make GA safer and practical for larger pilot audiences than ever witnessed before. If anyone is interested in electric aviation power, it will be an honor and a privilege to work with you! The motor, controllers, battery management system and batteries are simple and the commodities are inexpensive. Once the Metronomic/Parametric Oscillating, Battery Management, Mogen is understood by others. It should prove seeming simple to those who are mastering computer aided drafting. With my system, the components can architecture into the composite skins working double and sometimes triple purposes. The goal is 100 year design life! Contact (legioneering (at) outlook (dot) com) As a community we are living in the future! Let's make it a good one! Hit It!

@@matthewdowd4686 I would bet, Mike trained Scrappy to jump, and Scrappy asked how high? Just think of a Stol drag race, Mike start with the shocks at low height setting, a low preassure charge, just enought travel for takeoff gathering speed faster because of a flater angle of attack, and near take of speed, Mike will use Air pressure from the oxygen bottle to have the 2 shocks jumping out to full lengt with both up 15-18" uptravel to get the front of Scrappy at a steeper angle of attack. Those lowrider jumping cars would get jealous.. how high scrappy jumps.. And with the AirshotBoom Scrappy goes airborne with a 1 scrappy + a Mike mass movement.. this will eat a good chunk out of his of his starting distance. or with Mikes oversized engine and Mad Prop.. (cant imagine how much countersteer this combo will need..torque wise ) Scrappy might jumpstart and is a ZTSL zeroTakeoff short landing Plane and for landing, he just sets the shocks preassure back to lower soft impound eating level. And the best part for mike, its just some bigger and extra airlines, a electic solenoid to open the oxcgenbottle(a preassure regulater perhaps to adjust the jump strenght) , and an 3 way valve and an eletronic preassure adjuster valve to set his desired landing suspension setting. 1 st setting be closed at jumpstart when the bottle kicks in, 2nd setting preassure regulated after jump start and for landing, and the 3rd way would be hooked up to the engines mainfold for vaccum to the shocks to tow in the suspension to max compression in flight to get the most use out of the suspension wings. And i´m pretty sure its air controlled since might is stingy as a scotsman when it comes to weight, so its not hydraulic.

Am wondering if you've come up with some ingenious way to hydraulically raise the wheels with the shocks so those wings can be horizontal in flight, then dropped for landing??? Wait a minute - will the lift from the wings raise them up by themselves if you can valve the shocks to let them easily travel upward after liftoff?

@@getstuk87 I agree, my though is that they are air shocks and by venting them, the lift will cause the "gear" to retract into the horizontal. To land, they will be pressurized to get required cushioning. For simplicity, the shock valving might just perform this function automatically. But if you have to slow down to let the lift bleed off to get the "gear" to go down, that could get to be nerve-racking. Also, this functionality would likely be affected by temperature.

I just realized after you lowered Scrappy onto the tires for the first time that I had on a huge grin. I am so happy for your progress Mike. Those gear wings look so nice.

Mike, thanks for bringing up the lower a-arm. I was curious if that fabric’d lower works with or complicates the mini-wing above it. I had pictured it being open framework. Love learning the engineering behind it all! On a previous video I commented that your videos have bit me with the flight bug, I was going to have a flight lesson in a helicopter, and I did! It was amazing and challenging and frustrating(because I live in NW Oregon and the rain and cloud cover really limited the skies). BUT it wet my appetite to go back for more! Thank you!

In all my vast number of years I have become aware that the higher a persons skill level the more frequently they get lucky! The most cool thing about this build is the volume of recycled materials used in construction. Including the engine.

Never seen a better work ethic! Mike’s channel should be required watching for some of our “millennials”. Truly great channel.

Ground effect is going to be amazing :o) Gas adjustable shock pressure from the cab?

Absolutely amazing and inspiring Mike!!! I watch these episodes as soon as they come out. My concern about this much travel in the suspension is the same problem that caused Draco to have divergent suspension stability in a cross wind. Scrappy, with even more wheel travel, will have that same problem only worse, unless your secret that you're about to reveal in the next video is that the King suspension is a dual chamber suspension and that it will only have minor travel in one chamber with restricted travel in the long throw chamber used for landings. Dual chamber would prevent tip over in a crosswind.

Hi Mike! Care to share your thinking on brake lines to the discs and from the brake cylinders? I'm sure it will be more than interesting! Bill

With all that lift surface, it's almost like he is planning to have the prop wash lift the plane straight up. :)
@MaximEck964 жыл бұрын
Considering the prop in front... It wouldn't be surprising. Just add spring loaded shock custom made by king and he just created a VTOL 😂

I'm sure as close to that as possible. He called it out early- it's all about short takeoff.

@@ManicSalamander and he was fairly disappointed that he couldn't make draco jump after having him squat with the brakes locked ^^

With that fan boat prop, you know it's going to take off shorter than Draco
