Carbon insoles for foot pain

A carbon insole can be really helpful in helping treat midfoot osteoarthritis, plantar plate tears, big toe osteoarthritis.
These can fit under the shoe lining and will stiffen up any shoe it fits into, allowing to turn any shoe into a stiff-soled shoe with a rocker.

Thank you for your reply. I am in Houston, TX. I think I injured my toe when I started running in Vibram Fivefingers shoes. Don't know if I should be immobilizing it or exercising it. Also would you recommend me seeing a podiatrist or an orthopedic? Thanks again!

How do you make the form of the insole?

Thanks for the questions. The insoles are made from a last and the different sizes have the rocker in different places. The carbon in made in layers. We don’t make then in-house and order them depending on size then modify in house

I have Hallux In both big toes. I have some questions, I plan on having surgery: will my toe point upwards or lay flat after recovery?Since I have to purchase these inserts, can I find them under $100 or in pairs online?Will I always have hallux at the big toe? I’m only plan on having surgery on one toe? Will the fiber plate manipulate the direction of the toe position? Your response will be very helpful.

Thanks for the question, it depends severity, your surgeon would be the best person to ask your questions to, sorry with out seeing the toe, it is hard to comment. Post surgery you may not require the insoles at all. Thanks

Meme B have a chat with your surgeon there are many operations they can do, discuss with them out comes and what to expect, and recovery times. Surgery can be very helpful however it is always best discussed with the person doing the surgery and picking the right time

Hi Will, they could be helpful in American football, however need to make sure they can tolerated to the load from American football, they have bot been tested in American football, there have been a couple of cases in Rugby of the devices fracturing with the increased weight and load

Hey Nick thanks.. I would be using for flag football. I am about 7 years retired from full pads. Very popular in the states. I really like the natural curve at the toe.. like a basketball shoe. I guess what I am asking is would this insole be sturdy enough for cuts for about an hour?

JennyG, I am an American who runs for exercise. No prescription is required to purchase carbon fiber inserts in the US, but it would be wise to see a doctor to diagnose your situation. Recently, an orthopedic surgeon x-rayed my feet, diagnosed me with hallux rigidus (big toe arthritis with dorsal bunion), and recommended that I get carbon fiber inserts with Morton's extension. These are flat. Through Amazon, I bought a pair of "carbon fiber insole Morton's extension" inserts (1.5 mm thick) for $70 USD. They provide instant relief for running, but I am still learning how to run in them, because they stiffen my shoes so much. The Amazon page for these inserts also shows the "Original Carbon Fiber Insole" that go under the full foot. These are only 1.2 mm thick, so they are not as stiff as the thicker inserts with Morton's extension. Talk with your foot doctor about your condition and the best solution for you.

That little thin piece of paper isn’t gonna help might as well buy regular gel ones this looks rough on ur feet like a piece of cardboard

It is carbon fibre so it is rigid. However the key part is also the rocker. So as you push forward the toes do not bend upwards, which would aggravate a problem like a plantar plate injury or big toe arthritis. There is also evidence supporting the use of a stiff rocker for conditions like Midfoot arthritis. Gel insoles are not bad. The key part with orthoses is the right one for the right job at the right time
