Hey Andrew. Great job. Very nice bird you have there and it looks so easy to fly it. Thanks for posting this video and greetings from Slovenia, Robert

Very cool, nice to see you reviewing higher end gear for a plane that deserves it for those upcoming missions :)

I went with a 3536 1000kv , probably going to try a folding 10x6 on 4s and see how it goes. I have 2 (5200mah ) 3s packs that I might try out as well

You are correct, I do love the twin booms. 2.0kg with 2 x 3000 4S

Mate what a great setup, I'll have to give them a ring and see what motor they thing would be good for the old FX61. Thanks for the video. P.S. I would bolt right through with the motor mount plate Just In case
@AndrewNewton

Yes I need to revisit the motor mounting. Definitely give them a ring, Q seems to have done lots of motor efficiency testing

OK, I've watched you do this a few times with Loctite...just smearing it on the exposed threads does nothing but make a mess. Loctite is anaerobic, meaning it cures in the absence of air in a confined space between metal parts...it must be put on the threads that will be in contact with the fastener.

Thanks Mark, I was hoping it would wick in a little, but might be unlikely

I have to agree with Mark. Loctite before assembly.

Great video, beautiful bird! :) What is the all up take off weight? Im guessing about 1kg?
@AndrewNewton
@AndrewNewton 7 жыл бұрын
2.0kg in this video, will be a bit heavier with FPV gear and more batteries. Max weight recommended is 3.5kg

Great vid , I enjoy watching you los vids :-) I noticed with that relatively LARGE prop you had the brake on, be careful not to shut the throttle off too quick or the mass of the prop/spinner will rip that motor mount out of the foam! speaking from a nasty experience of my own :-)
@AndrewNewton
@AndrewNewton 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip Chris, never thought about that. The motor mount really does need some attention.

1 - Quietest motor Ive heard for a long time amazing 2 - once you get to missions dont post them only share them. Dont wont you to have to leave KZbin like our great SA flier because some goose gets on their high horse about LOS. I mean Australia has so little space. Theres no way you can do missions over vast tracks of land with no people on it. Ted we miss your awesome flights.

Pleased you didn't try and use that collet type prop driver...No motor mounting plate?..really?..That said, it's obviously going to be a big cruiser on 3S...Just parallel another big Lipo alongside. My experience with iNAV, is that you can have plenty of surface throws because you will be spending most time in Horizon / Alt Mode anyway. iNAV has an Expo curve you can adjust. I usually use UHF on longer range rigs, but I tested iNAV using my L9R and my best output 5.8G tx. You will be surprised just how far you can go, but you will need a directional VRX antenna, or better still a pair of them on your diversity rig. You will run out of 5.8G video range before control. I can't wait to see you dip your toe beyond 750 mtrs....lol.

If it was down to me, I'd extent those wing tips by 500mm on each side. I know the span is probably that size so it can fit in a vehicle, but to me it's just a toy at that size. ;¬)
@AndrewNewton
@AndrewNewton 7 жыл бұрын
Mmm yes 2.8m wingspan, that would be easy to handle
@wordreet
@wordreet 7 жыл бұрын
It would increase stability and extend flight times too.
