another great video boys in my experience with this material if you don't have a heated chamber you just need to print slower but I highly recommend an enclosure just to keep the temperatures a little more consistent I find around 300 on the nozzle and then I used 70 on the bed with Elmer's glue all mixed 50% water sticks like a champ
@ikkeennigij121
@ikkeennigij121 3 жыл бұрын
just wondering, what printer do you have that can reach these temps? I have a stock cr10v2 and max nozzle is 260° and 110 for the bed

I am getting conflicting info on your site vs 3DXTech's page. Neither has a TDS which is a bit disappointing bit your site says 190c HDT and in this video and on 3DXTechs site it says 220c HDT. It would be great to get a TDS from 3DXTech like the ones the Essentium provide for their HTN Nylon

We should have a TDS for this soon, it's brand new so they're still working on it :) And thanks for noticing the typo on the website, that has been fixed!

When I back-up the video and replay the "Break", you have to bend a good 30° before it breaks; "That's Good", but; what you need now is a pull test. You need to pull along the strands rather than pull them away from each other, as in; layer from layer.

@@VisionMiner Take another test strip, like the one you broke in the vice, but; print it with holes on both ends and a narrow section in the middle so you can pull it apart slowly with a scale on one end, so; you can measure the Lbs until it breaks. I'm seeing 3D Printed helIcopter rotor heads out of that CarbonX HTN-CF, if it works.

Do you guys sell unfilled polyphthalamide or plan to in the future? PPA has some amazing properties, not just as a high-temp stationary structural material, and it would be super useful for wear & impact applications where CF/GF are detrimental.
@VisionMiner
@VisionMiner 3 жыл бұрын
Yes we do, it's regular HTN from Essentium (also on our site in the Nylon section) We've actually been experimenting with dual extrusion, where the core of a part is HTNCF25 and the outside is HTN (PPA) for exactly that reason :) mostly for wear properties

would love a comparison to Essentiums CFHTN. we bought 1 spool of HTN and CFHTN from essentium and its very strong. However, I dont feel the CFHTN is as strong as their datasheet says. I printed 2 equal parts, 1 in Essentium CFHTN, and 1 in 3Dxtech CF-PA6 (gen 3). Essentium CFHTN was stronger, but not 4 times stronger (maybe 1.5x) as the datasheet would imply. Thoughts on this ?

I know the TDS is coming, but seeing other comparative materials, I would assume this material around 100-120C should hold up to ~25psi in a 3.5" tube? If I'm doing my math right haha. Should be good if you're mentioning intake manifolds. Looking at intercooler piping as well as other supporting parts. Thanks!

Do your filaments work with Bambu Carbon 3d printers? I've looked at the recommended MarkForged printers in your website and they have buttons to request a quote instead of letting me buy it. That is a huge major red flag for me even if they are really good printers.

Have you successfully printed this airtight? I've printed their PA6-CF airtight (held 50PSIG for 30 days), but haven't tried this yet and would like to use it for some automotive parts. How does it print compared to their PA6-CF?

OK; I know your Filament is specialized, but; all I have is a CR 10. I can print Matter Hackers Carbon Fiber Nylon, but; it looks like I'm going to have to get another printer if I want to print with you guys. I need to build a printer that can print hoter than 260°. What kind of printer do you guys use?
@VisionMiner
@VisionMiner 3 жыл бұрын
You can still use the CFPA6, too! visionminer.com/materials#nylon We mostly use the Funmat HT (visionminer.com/funmat) You can easily upgrade your hotend and be printing at these temps, probably for less than $100 :)

A great filament, shame a prusa cannot use it
@josiahong5177
@josiahong5177 3 жыл бұрын
I think it can. At the bottom range, yes, so worse strength, but it’s possible. For example, I print PC with a heated bed at 110 degrees and CF nylon with a hotend at 290. Just not above 290, as with my horribly PID tuned Prusa, it goes up past 300, then triggers maxtemp.

Question: Could I print an, engine rocker cover for my race car with this filament? I know it depends solely on the under bonnet temperatures... that are varying between cars. A better question is, has anyone printed a rocker cover? 😂🤜🏼🤛🏼🇦🇺🍀🍀🍀🤓😎
