Even when working on the easiest piece of equipment you could think of taking pictures before you rip things apart is a great idea! You never know how long you could be away from the project or what you'll run into..

Adding Stabil or some other gasoline stabilizer to your gasoline supply may help keep your carburetors clean for the next season. I know that it has helped me keep my 4 & 2 stroke small engines alive for 20+ years.

I had a stihl fs75 I had to replace the carb on. On the zama carbs, there's a plastic altitude check ball inside that the additives in today's fuel softens and makes gummy. Causes the engine to fall on its face when you try to Rev up. Zama corp says no solvent cleaners, no compressed air over 20psi, and if a kit won't fix it, replace the entire carb.

On the top of the gas tank for the FS90R, there is a black, plastic fitting that connects the air cleaner with the gas tank. I assume it's part of the vapor recovery / pollution control system. The black plastic piece has become split in half, with half attached to the rubber hose, and half to the gas tank. Is this a tap together with a punch part, or do I have to replace the entire black piece, or do I have to replace the entire gas tank? Thanks

The Zama carbs that Sthil uses are so cheap its almost always better to just get a new carb and motor on. The rebuild is a hit or miss proposition. New carb is the way to go especially if your job depend upon 100% up time. Just my 2 cents.

After building a Lowe's 8' X 10' shed that took 7 hours with two men. It is very important to have it on a level ground surface. Preferably a level cement pad. The roof took most of our time. Because the roof parts didn't fit together too well at all. But the rest of the shed was fairly easy.
