Appreciate you posting these three videos. Disassembled, cleaned and reassembled with no problems. Like you...first pull and it started easily. Thanks for the assist!

Tell your wife you're my new man! I now feel confident that I can rebuild my B&S 5hp carb myself. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this! I have the exact same generator, so this video was a great help! I ordered the same kit you showed and will be rebuilding the carb when we finally thaw out here in Houston.

Did you ever think that people will still be watching you video 8 years later? That is amazing when you think about it. Watch all 3, Good videos. The only thing I see missing is a top view looking down showing all the throttle connections.

This was one of my first videos on fixing/repairing things. Definitely could have been better but it has helped a lot of people, which was the intent. Hope you got some good out of it.

Thanks so much for your vid. I have a tiller with a Briggs & Stratton engine that will start for 2 seconds then stop. I even tried using starter fluid which makes me believe its the carburetor. I only hope i can get it back together. Yr vids helped !

Rodzilla Rox a tip is to take a phone pic as you take parts and screws off. That way you have a reference to how it looked before the tear down. I’ve found that it is not so hard as one would think. It’s just calculated moves and remembering what you did. Glad I could help and good luck.

I know this is an old video but for any new viewers......those holes in the bowl bolt allow to fuel to enter the jets since you screw that bolt into the same hole as the jets when attaching the bowl. Without them, the jets would be completely blocked meaning no fuel to the engine.

do you know if the carb you are rebuilding is part number 495652? I am working on a similar briggs and stratt 5hp, but it looks a little different.

What's the part number for that carb? Thanks.

Ha so the reason I came to watch is how you tune the carb after, air mixture and governor adj. Evidentially your mower uses magic. Nice fabric in your shirts though.

I don’t think the carb in the video is adjustable. I have the same carb on the same engine(although different model name). There’s no adjustment of the AF mixture.
