This is a fun movie that makes me think of simpler times when we'd go along with an impossible plot just for the entertainment. "Hmm, wonder why someone would kidnap a girl from the track?" Grab another beer, don't call the cops. ...lol

This is a very underrated movie... it's criminally underrated, This needs a Blu Ray release, Please MGM, Please! (Besides, this upload was the syndication cut on This, not to mention, it said WPHL on the bottom of the screen, which means that this airing was recorded in my hometown market, The Philadelphia/South Jersey/North Delaware market

Worth a look just for the vintage Busch Grand National footage. The early Ventura with the late nose is fun too. Looks like the shop scenes with Kennedy were filmed inside the DiGard shops (logo on door). Dang David Pearson does a cameo too. IMDB has almost nothing on this one.

Well let's see this movie was a interesting look at nascar lower series with the basic plot of good guys v.s. bad guys who do anything to win the race and little romantic sub plot to keep you busy for rest of run time so to top it of with the case of cheaters who get really nothing but misfortune for there evil doings.

I grew up two blocks away from the "highest banked short track oval in the pacific northwest", I'd fall asleep to that sound in the 60s and early 70s, some dream of long walks in the sand and the smell of the sea, some dream of the sound of stock cars and the smell of burning rubber the same way. Instead of a swing set in the yard my fathers '55 Chev superstock sat out back for me to play on. I've seen this movie a couple times now and you're right, not overly authentic but it does sound pretty :) Someone needs to make one of those long youtube videos of it, not the new sound but classic!

@@pamelakelly3441 That's a good scene with Pearson. Love the cameos. You are correct with Charlotte. Still not sold on the cars being up to snuff. Every gall darn racing movie becomes a love story, but at least they talk turkey a bit with the engine configuration stuff And those are Geoff Bodine ski goggles and motocross helmets which line up with the era. Fuel win with Nitro, just forgot the big downshift for the win...!

They are polishing the the ports !..removing metal ,there is nothing wrong with that ,I use a air power tool to do the same job ,much more aggressivel .You leave the old seats in while doing the job ,then replace with new one's when finished . PS You obviously know nothing ! .
