Nissan Frontier Pro-4X is on sale right now in the mid-$30k’s. That’s thirty thousand dollars less than this, not $30k difference in performance or quality.
@mad-meh2719

That's more in competition with last gen tacoma. I do agree the price is too high.
@joesteel3459
@joesteel3459 6 күн бұрын
@@mad-meh2719honestly I’d be willing to bet my 23 pro 4x would beat this stock TRD pro off road. Bought my pro4x last year for 43k and have just over 4K in suspension upgrades and tires. So I’m still over 20k less than the trd pro and more capable. I’ve got the same ground clearance but better approach and departure angles, shorter wheel base and a better crawl ratio. The disconnectable sway bar on the Toyota would be nice but I’d rather install a front locker which I’m also able to do for about $1500.
@YerBoyTroy
@YerBoyTroy 4 күн бұрын
@@joesteel3459 the cost definitely covers more than the offroading bits. The taco still has beefier axles, transfer case, more power, more flexibility for bolt on accessories. 2400W inverter is a huge plus. Generally a more comfortable interior. Not ragging on the frontier though, it's still rock solid and definitely the better value buy. But when you separate the price tag and strip both trucks down to their core, you're gonna get more with the taco. As you should as it costs significantly more. Should it cost that much? No. But it definitely should cost more than the frontier
@joesteel3459
@joesteel3459 3 күн бұрын
@@YerBoyTroy yeah I’m not sure about that. The pro 4x has a Dana 44/m226 diff, so the axles shouldn’t be an issue. This was also the same set up Nissan used in the full size titan. The frontier just uses shorter axles. Transfer case…tfl broke their 2024 Tacoma on an extremely easy section of trail. A fluke? Most likely, however it doesn’t help instill very much confidence. Power. The pro 4x has 310hp, that’s plenty of power for offroad, especially considering the crawl ratio in the pro 4x is better than the Tacoma. I also want a naturally aspirated v6, Toyota doesn’t offer that anymore. But If drag racing off road trucks is your thing and you need speed, then I guess go with the Toyota. More parts for the Tacoma, yes. That is true and it will always be that way. It was always much more popular than the frontier, so there’s a larger market for it. Lastly for comfort, I’m not sure if you’ve sat in a frontier, but Nissan is notorious for the comfort in their zero gravity seats. I have zero complaints about comfort and my passengers have more leg room than they would in the Tacoma.

There is nothing that makes that truck for $66 thousand dollars-I truly hope people do not buy it and it sits on the lot for months and months until Toyota comes to their senses and realizes that not all their patrons are rich! What I love the most about the 2024 Toyota Tacoma‘s is that I got a really great deal on my 2023 Tacoma Trd sport that’s about half that price and it has a six cylinder.

Love your videos boys. But Toyota is not in a good spot with there trucks at the moment. The new Taco? Very sub par build quality...even the glove box doesn't fully latch. Drivetrain reliability issues galore. The hood is still too high and the new info screen only adds to the forward visibility issues. Inside and out very plasticky...almost Tonka truck like. In regards to the hybrid? It weighs (depending on model) 600+ lbs more so the fuel economy and performance gains are nullified. And the price difference? Outrageous. I was wanting Toyota to do better and this is what we are left with. You can't go wrong with either GM twin or the new Ranger. Want the best value proposition? Go look at the Nissan Frontier. Naturally aspirated v6 and has proven reliable. Decent economy to boot. I went with a GMC Canyon AT4x because I liked the looks inside and out. Visibility was great and the drivetrain is strong and reliable as well. Go drive them all if you must. But as a long time Tacoma fan (And now previous owner) you can do much better elsewhere for the money.
