This is one hell of an electric vehicle. It just looks exotic and then you have the N active sound modes which is insane because this idea would’ve never been a thought for a lot of brands. Bravo to Hyundai for going that extra step to make this more appealing. This just looks like a joy to drive on the daily basis, I had fun watching it ik you guys had plenty of driving it. This is basically an electric Elantra N. This Ioniq would be iconic in the years to come, wouldn’t regret getting a ticket in this.

I test drove the Hyundai Ioniq 5N back to back with Tesla Model Y Performance and in terms of driving quality, driving comfort, driver engagement and how planted the car is in corners and under acceleration, the Hyundai wins hands down. I was going to buy it as a family car for daily use and track car for once a month event. When I test drove it with wife and kid in the back seats they loved the acceleration, but after 20 minutes started to complain how rock hard the rear seats are. I went to try it myself and they are like a wooden plank. Didn't you experience the same? I'm now torn between the Tesla and Hyundai, because it can't be comfortably used for people who sit in the back.

If you're gonna use it with your family on the daily then get the Y even tho I'm not a fan of Tesla period. If the 5N is gonna be your car and the kids will be in it on weekends or so then get the 5N instead. I'm not sure if the rear seats are the same in both but my teen daughter didn't complain about it on an 8 hour trip. She and I were both fine on the front seats as well. I personally have the EV6 GT which I got earlier this year. I chosen it over the upcoming 5N at that time. To me the GT is more of my style overall. I had a few must haves like an opening sunroof and rear heated seats for example. The 5N for the US market has too many compromises for my needs. It's such a shame. If I was younger then I probably wouldn't mind it. A $67K car before the tax credit should have some creature comforts at my age.

Not into Electric cars but if i had to I'd definitely consider this. Hyundai went balls-out with this one. This DECIMATES Tesla, Polestar, or any other EV that competes with this. Hyundai-Genesis/Kia in general is killing it consistently, I Love it. Meanwhile BMW is in the throws of an identity-crisis right now which is sad but it makes sense considering most of their talent along with the best from Audi-Bentley, and AMG are heads at Genesis and Hyundai N-Performance division, I wouldn't know what to do either. Can't wait for Magma!! Great Review!

@ Because US drivers are cheap and complain about the price. In other markets, 5N are better equipped but also more expensive. The digital mirror is not legal in the US.

Yes, there are 2 exterior speakers (front & back). Just like other EVs, the droning noise is there for pedestrian awareness, but I believe they don't produce the simulated engine noise until above 10mph? I haven't done the real-world test on my 5N yet! 😂 You can turn that on/off in the settings tho 👍🏼

I knew all about those deletes and still bought one. The N5 is the first high horse power car that didn't come with a forced manufacturer added glass roof of some sort. That was a big plus in its favor for me. Also, When driven normally, will return a minimum of 253-276 miles of range. Simply put, it's the best all-around driver focused car I have ever owned.

@hyundaiveloster6437 the vision roof I could understand out of all the missing features. It's nice but I'm not a fan of it as it doesn't open up. That being said I ended up getting the EV6 GT earlier this year knowing what I was going to be missing out on the 5N which honestly isn't my style at my age. It looks nice but just isn't for me for the added price tag. Enjoy your 5N tho as I'm doing the same with my GT. Styling inside and out is always subjective but to me the GT is better overall for the price. The 5N would've been an easy $27K more if I had waited another month or two for the launch. No thx as the US specs were weak imo.

Sorry. Great vehicle. But like the Kia Ev6 GT, the seats are the deal breaker. If you can't get electric seats, you're losing a lot of people.

It's understandable, and everyone has their preferences. even tho it was the designers' choice due to an electric seat can't be positioned as low as a manual seat, Hyundai hasn't been giving their N cars many options choices. It's my 2nd N, so I know! Love my 5N tho! Absolute beast, and very practical at the same time. 👍🏼

If you're the only driver cause it's only your car then it's not a big deal. If you have to share it with someone else then yeah it could be a deal breaker. To me I've had cars with powered seat for almost my all of my driving life, about 20 years now. I recently for the EV6 GT earlier this year and km perfectly fine with them. They're comfortable even on super long trips. Vented seats would've been nice but it's not really needed cause of the suede material. I set the seat once and I'm done. I only slide it back and forth from time to time if I need more space or so. I could easily and quickly put it back prior to driving.

They're performance seats, most brands that offer performance Ricaro seats are usually Manual. The Carbon buckets in the BMW M cars are Manual. Even in some super-cars that offer a performance seat option, they are Manual. The Standard seating is all power.

It's intentional to allow seats that sit lower, if you don't care about performance you can get a cheaper ioniq 5 that does have power seats.

Performance car people will do things like remove the AC to drop weight and parasitic drag on engines... I think they can handle moving their own seat so they can sit lower.
