Sure thing bud, the old frontiers were way more reliable than the new gen models. Funny enough the new Tacoma's are still gonna exceed better in terms of reliability compared to the new gen frontier. Nissan isn't the same company that used to make reliable vehicles anymore they clearly dropped the ball on the new frontier alongside their other vehicles on being junk. The only thing y'all have to whine about is the new engine and price. The price I understand, but the engine isn't that bad and Toyota no doubt still holds on with reliability towards their new model.

@@Garlander There's already a lot of reports and issues that are already recorded. The new frontier with having issues and recalls with most of their electrical issues that are linked to the new tech with the truck, and then there's transmission problems with the new truck which has been a complaint with owners reporting these issues especially since this new transmission that the new frontier is using is basically Mercedes written all over it. I'd tell you to Google it, but you'd probably say that "there isn't enough data to back it up." Meanwhile the new Toyota Tacoma with the new 4cyl just came out, and not much is being said yet about it being with "problems" just conspiracies by a bunch of whining kids making the new Tacoma look bad and thinking that they know about the new engine already without actually stating facts about how they would know about the new Tacoma engine already which in this case doesn't make sense at all since the truck just came out. Things may be different with the new Taco and I can definitely say that it's still going to exceed for sure in terms of reliability. Literally take a look at the old Toyota supra with the 2jz engine it was astonishing, and it had a turbo in the engine like what!?!? It's definitely no surprise for Toyota to use this kind of method for their new engine on some of their new vehicles. And knowing Toyota used turbos in the past is definitely going to be all too familiar, but no problem for them to implement towards. Like make it make sense if y'all are going to critique.

What is wrong with the Jatco?
@jasonzrx12Ай бұрын
@mrstevemassa mine shifts erratically, overevs by 500-1000 rpms and slams into gear between certain gears on downshifts. Shudders a bit under load. Shifts sloppy with a horrid delay in "manual mode" this is an early model, 2020, less than 10k miles total. Niisan dealership chocks it up as normal behavior. So it's normally a pschizophrenic. My rental SV 4x4 '21 did not exhibit this behavior. Small sample size. But there seems to be a batch of the early trans that did this. Nissan corp weasels outta the warranty until expiration. Then they admit that your trans is F%%%%. The replacement charge seems to be around 9k$. Little aftermarket support that i have found. This may change with the jatco9er going in the Z. I'm probably just one of a few that has issues. But it's enough to make a man shun Nissan. I bought the truck for reliability and warranty. And without those, hell, why not buy something cool. Like a fronty with a 4.0 and 6 speed stick shift. Or a 6.2L SVT F150. Otherwise i like the truck. Quick for what it is. Fantastic engine. Simple. That's been my experience. Your's may vary.
@jasonzrx1221 күн бұрын
Well, update, if anybody cares, my shifting got worse, over the course of a week. Nissan dealer dug into it, software all good, noted the erratic shifting, signed off on it. couple days later, upon decel onto a freeway exit ramp, it downshifted into 4th with a loud BANG that shook the entire truck. I resolved to sell it. But... since then, perfect shifts. Like, flawless. Shifts butter smooth when cruising, and like a dragster at WOT. Even "manual mode" is responsive now. So, i dunno. It fixed itself. So I am keeping it.

Love the Frontier, I do think Nissan has taken some steps back in certain areas though. For example, wish they would of updated the key to the new one the Pathfinder is currently using. Speaking of Pathfinder, wish it also had the automatic lock/unlock feature the Pathfinder has as well when you walk up to it or away. LOVE that feature on my Pathfinder! The other issue I noticed that new bigger infotainment screen doesn't seem very well optimized for the size and the fact the camera resolution isn't great is another big downer. I think the cameras on the Pathfinder are great and it's a shame they took shortcuts on this truck. On a different note, I LOVE that they kept it truck like with physical knobs and buttons which is my favorite thing about Nissan

Looking at this video and comparing it to my Taco, I made the right decision (truck wise). Toyota being #1 in reliability and resell value also has better quality. This Frontier looks cheap, and the steering wheel looks like a Nissan Marono. The infotainment looks outdated as well. Also from a engineering standpoint you guys need to get over the 4 cylinder turbo. It's faster and feels faster than V6. Also better fuel compensation. It's a win win. You are holding yourself back buying V6. Also the reason Nissan is even keeping it V6 naturally aspirated is because they are holding on the the last dying breed of customers they can. Their stock has tanked and they have to take what they can get. When they have no choice but to switch, it's lights out for Nissan.

You say this as the Tacoma and Titan face recalls and known issues for the 24s 😂 Toyotas truck reliability has tanked

I'm sure it's a great truck but the styling looks 10 years old. If they gave it a real refresh and kept the v6 they would capture a lot more market share.

One thing I can not stand about midsize trucks are the back seats. It’s not very comfortable because you sit upright and you’re kind of against the bed and the legroom isn’t the best. Midsize trucks are more like “work” vehicle than anything. I feel like a full size truck is a better vehicle for 4 people than a midsize truck.

Midsize trucks are pretty much exclusively offroad or work vehicles. Full Size is what you want if you're planning on using it as a secondary family vehicle, although I'm not sure what I'd do with a full size with how big they are these days.

No rear a/c vents!? :( They lose alot of family buyers off that feature alone. Only the Ridgeline has them unfortunately. Not even the new Ford Ranger has them.

The 22 through 25 have vents for the rear located under the front seats.

The only real update vs the 2022-2024 is the telescopic steering wheel 😂. The little visuals are a gimmick and you cant even use the whole 12" screen, it just blacks out the right side of the screen 😂😂😂. Someone tell me Im wrong?
@byronargueta1026Ай бұрын
Wrong you are.
@eliteexposure5594Ай бұрын
@@byronargueta1026 Ok, what are the important updates then? I mean they changed the rims, still same size and same exact tire. They made the grill uglier imo, what real updates did they make? I have a 24 and knew the 25s were coming out. I knew there would be no update. The only thing about the 25s I like is the teleacopic steering wheel. The tow capacity of 500 lbs is also negligible

Why did they make the screen so long if at least a third of it is not being used it looks stupid.

Watching this as a Trailhunter owner, I just feel even more like I made the right choice. Did it cost a lot more? Sure. But that wasn't an issue for me. I get why it would be for most people. What I like about the TH is that you aren't just getting a truck. You're getting all the offroading goodies I would already be planning to put on it but the difference is they were all designed around the truck specifically while the truck was being designed itself. Things like a steel ARB bumper, Ridgid LED light bar and fog lights and bed lights, OME suspension, ARB sport rack, frame-mounted rock rails, full underbelly steel armor, sway bar disconnect, locking rear differential, etc. It's also all under warranty and my warranty covers everything in the vehicle for 7 years. 2 years of complimentary maintenance is something Toyota has done for a long time now. Sure, my 4 cylinder is a hybrid. But it makes 326 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque. Toyota has also been making hybrids for 20+ years. Not to mention after 10 years of owning it, the Tacoma retains about 40% of its value so it isn't necessarily all money spent. Just money invested. The interior tech is better in the tacoma, with a 14 inch infotainment system, more cameras, way higher definition cameras, more personality in the interior design too. My dash looks like it was carved out of a damn boulder. How cool is that?! Also, living in TX, I'm glad the seats I got are "mineral" colored, which is a cool looking green/gray with yellow/gold piping because it doesn't heat up as much as the black leather does. Speaking of the seats, Tacos get 3 levels of heated and 3 levels of ventilated seats which have all the power adjustment you could want. Oh, and that hybrid component? It means no trouble getting up to speed, so it is quick off the line. It also gives you 2400W in the bed to power pretty much anything you want. TH even gets an air compressor which you can program with several settings for various pressures you want your tires at. Tailgate isn't just dampened, it's powered and has about 6 ways to open/close it including just nudging it back up with your knee if your hands are full. There is also just the appearance factor. Bronze Oxide TH is the best looking truck I've seen ever. Is that super subjective? Hell yes it is, but it's my money, so who cares? So yeah. It's more expensive, but it feels worth it. In the long run, you're actually losing LESS money because of how much value it retains compared to other brands including Nissan.

@@Scarmo21 lol it showed up on my feed so I gave it a chance. I'm actually quite happy the midsize truck market has come as far as it has in the last few years. I came because of the title though. It was directly comparing to the Tacoma, so yeah I wanted to see how it stands up to my vehicle. I'm pretty happy with what I decided on.

@@sunnyvalentino I will say it has been annoying having everyone shit on a vehicle I love. Even to introduce this new vehicle they have to say something negative about mine (the price). I just got rid of a 2021 Titan PRO4X loaded. It spent more time at the dealership than in my garage. Nissan's service sucks! After 20 service bulletins pending, only 4 were fixed. Hence, the refresh on a totally redesign 2 year old vehicle. That's exactly why Nissan can't sell 100K trucks between two models. Finally, the resale value is horrible....

Exactly my pro master 3500 van blew a transmission at 52,000 miles, there is a reason Nissan is always at the bottom

That backup camera is the most pathetic camera and layout in the entire car market🤣 what’s the point of a giant horizontal screen if the camera system only uses 1/4 of it💀 For the price the interior is still to Bleh to justify the 50k price tag of a Pro4X when you look at all of the competition but comparing it to the Taco makes sense since it also has one of the more cheaper looking interiors and the only thing both companies are doing nice is the seats😅
