It has been a stressful situation and we appreciate your understanding that we are ready to turn the page from this. We will keep you all in the loop if Hyundai provides us with more specifics.

I’m glad they did that, I would have returned it the first time when the transmission went. I personally don’t think they would have had offered you that buy back if you didn’t do the KZbin.The lemon Law isn’t really helpful in Massachusetts. But I’m glad you came back safe with the family. Can’t wait to see the new car… ps after reading the comments, I would have to agree that telling your followers to avoid the car. That would be honest.

Hi there. I purchased a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe XRT in Toronto Ontario back in April. I drove it 1180 km and the transmission disintegrated. The second and third gear exploded into bits. I reported it to the dealership and they originally told me that they would replace the transmission under warranty. I refused. I insisted that they replace the vehicle with a new one. After days of haggling, they agreed. Further to some viewers saying that you got special treatment, I am not an auto blogger, influencer or have any leverage with the auto industry. In addition, Canada has NO lemon laws with the exception of Quebec which just introduced one so if Hyundai wanted to, they could force me to take the car back with a repaired transmission. I am grateful to you guys for posting these videos because I truly believe this influenced Hyundai's decision. The relative speed with which they agreed to replace my vehicle says they KNOW something is wrong at their Alabama facility, where all the affected cars were manufactured, and are trying to get to the bottom of it. Originally Hyundai said they would replace my damaged Santa Fe with a Korean built model but I just discovered the model I'm getting came off the same line in Alabama. Not thrilled about it to be honest. I am a new customer to Hyundai and have NEVER had a problem like this with a new vehicle. EVER. And I've owned 13 new cars and 3 used cars over 30 years from American, Japanese and German makes.

If you have a lemon law don't mess with the dealer get a lawyer and have them handle it, the manufacturer will have to pay the lawyer fees and you will really not have to deal with anything till you have to turn the car in where the manufacturer will want you to turn it in.

@@jonathanalicea8940 It is a fact that Hyundai/Kia have had significant issues/problems with their engines and transmissions. This has been going on for years. They got a class action lawsuit filed against them that ended up costing them over $3B to replace all of the defective engines and transmissions. Look, it is a fact that Hyundai/Kia are not well built automobiles. That is why they tend to be less expensive up front and then depreciate into the deepest end of the gutter quickly thereafter. I know, they have a 100,000 mile drive train warranty which they proudly point to when selling their cars. However, they are famous and well known for rejecting warranty claims by their customers. What good does a 100,000 mile warranty do for the customer when they have to file a class action lawsuit to enforce the warranty. Hyundai/Kia do a good job in the overall concept and creative design but do a horrible job in building quality and long term life into their vehicles. Why do people continue to buy these brands when there are so many problems with them? They would be better served by buy a better quality automobile that does not have serious mechanical issues and depreciate like the Hyundai/Kia automobiles do.

Never owned a Korean car but rented many. They are my favorite rental cars because of all the standard features they come with compared to other manufacturers and are affordable to rent. Like all brands, you have to do thorough research before you buy. LG fridges had known issues with their linear compressors leading to class action law suit. But their washer/dyers are in the top three most reliable washer/dryer. LG monitors are fantastic in picture quality and features and are relatively affordable. I’d would never buy an American or European car again. Too many problems with every single one I bought. My research agrees with my experience.

Very happy you guys were treated well by Hyundai, but I have to think this quick resolve (the buy back) would definitely not have been afforded to any other customers. The experience one of my grandkids had with the local Hyundai dealership was so bad with the warranty coverage (on a 2021 Tuscan) he ended up selling it at a substantial loss and bought a new 2023 Subaru. After 32,000 miles he's totally happy with this move.

My parents bought a 2023 Sportage that had the entire EGR system replaced 4 times in a 10,000 mile period. After every time, the EGR would end up failing again. Kia took the car and opened and investigation with the head engineers out of the Georgia manufacturing plant and the car was taken apart and reviewed for 2 months. They discovered the primary vehicle wiring harness was damaged somehow and the bad sectors just happened to be intertwined with the EGR system. Kia replaced the entire wiring harness and no further issues ever came up. I suspect your vehicle is involved in a similar situation. Issues persisting after a full transmission replacement most likely indicates the transmission is not the problem.

We had a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited with the DCT and had issues, ended up trading it in and it was in a class action settlement which fortunately helped the loss we took in trade. So, we’ve been very hesitant to even consider another Hyundai! We love the features which can be very enticing so we’re yet intrigued. We’ve had a 2017 Kia Sorrento SX trim which we enjoyed but traded in for the Kia EV6 GT-line. Probably because there’s not a front wheel drive transmission that could handle the 430ft/lb of torque. Make the engine a little bit smaller reduce the torque put it in front wheel drive based crossovers.
@EOtekk
@EOtekk 2 ай бұрын
The 2.5T is the same engine as the 2.7T. They couldn't put the 2.7 in the traverse because it was designed as a longitudinal mount for rear drive vehicles and it wouldn't fit properly in the Traverse. The 2.5 is meant to be mounted sideways. It is effectively a downsized 2.7 that can be rotated transversely for front wheel drive architectures. It actually has more horsepower than the 2.7 but with a detune on the torque so it can be used more appropriately in passenger vehicles. The 2.7 is really a truck engine that they also adapted for use in the high performance Cadillacs, but it was ultimately designed for truck purposes first.

Since they no longer own the vehicle, how will they ever find out what the issue is?

@@AT-nq6cu You’re beginning to get a glimmer as to why the dealership bought the vehicle back so willingly. Now keep going.

Hi Car confections. I really love your content. You should buy a grand highlander, since it was on the top of your list of suv. It would be great, i think a lot of viewers would be interested. Have good one.

I’m sorry you guys have had so many issues with the transmissions. Hopefully whatever you replace it with will be more reliable. It’s too bad though, I really loved your Santa Fe lol.

Go for the Grand Highlander if you’re in the market or the CX-90 or even the Ascent, all these are made in Toyota Factories and are built good or even (though not a big Honda fan) I’d still recommend the Pilot over the Santa Fe

The real car channel. Can you guys please add a section for ride comfort on your spec review in a scale of 1-5. Harsh to plush. Thank you.

This video series is so important. My mom was considering a Hyundai until I sent these to her. Now she’s looking at Mazda or Toyota.
