Awesome video! Informative as always. I've been using the TW Polish + Ceramic Spray and I have to say I love the performance I can achieve. I do not see much improvement with paint correction when using the polish. I feel like the polish is more of a paint enhancer rather than a true correction product. The two combined provide fantastic gloss and super tight water beading. As usual, the results vary depending on the prep work performed.

Hey mate, great video! Turtle wax states that you need to wait 24 hours between coats of ceramic spray coating for maximum durability, or layering ceramic spray coating on on top of ceramic polish and wax. They also claim better durability than seal n shine if you do 2 coats, 24 hours apart on hybrid ceramic spray coating. My testing 2 coats 24 hours apart puts CSC ahead, but it’s pretty close. I will say CSC is nicer to use and glossier in my test, as well as better smelling.

Yup, I bought a bottle of Polish and Wax and Seal n Shine (new formula) after watching this video. It does say on the Polish and wax bottle to wait 24 hours. Also, I found wiping with a damp cloth actually CAUSED streaks after having already buffed with a dry cloth.

Hi Sandro, great video as always. Thanks. Just sharing..... I just did a total paint correction on my 2019 Renault Grand Scenic. Yes it has a hard clearcoat. After all the necessary paint prep... I cut with Ultracut by Carpro(2 times w/ 3-4 passes per panel) w/ SPTA microfiber pads, IPA wipe then finish with Turtle Hybrid Polish Wax w/SPTA finishing foam pads(2 times 3-4 passes per panel). Lastly apply 1 layer of Turtle Hybrid Ceramic Coating. Results are amazing. Insane deep gloss w/ very hydrophobic properties. Thanks brother.

Thanks, and I was on their website prior to testing these products and I saw no info about cure times whatsoever, but if that’s the case I appreciate the info! 24hrs wait time to simply layer an AIO or spray sealant seems excessive in my experience, even counter intuitive for creating an optimal bond, but I’m sure they have their reasons for suggesting that.

I find for a better machining experience use dry clean pad prime fully buy spreading product all over pad to dampen. Can be tricky as product is thin but after priming spread as is then add small amount of product as required. With the pad dampened with product it doesn't dry out as quick and if it does passing over re dampens. This gives me a nice long buffing cycle and then wipe off is a breeze.

An interesting review Sandro. The big wigs overseas have absolutely raved about this stuff, reviewed so it felt intimated, yet never once discussed difficulties between hand and machine application. Never once mentioned that is transforms from wet to dry in a matter of seconds (yes, I did notice in your video), never really compared its application v cost v competition. @@bdollo that's considered a "sander" right? Do you use it for polishing and paint correction specifically? Does that machine stall and have trouble rotating in free spin mode at low-mid speeds while polishing? The ability to turn on and off forced rotation is very cool. The reviews I watched of the designated polisher mentioned the free spin mode was rather clunky and underpowered compared to a standard free spin polisher. I already have quite a few Makita cordless tools, batteries and chargers, so I've been looking pretty hard at getting their cordless polisher, the XOP02Z, but I usually cut with a rotary, so I'd probably use it more for a convenient free spin than anything else.
@bdollo3 жыл бұрын
@@jdisdetermined yeah that is technically a sander but because I detail boats and not cars (except my own) it suits my needs better. The big one has a hand grip that sits forward of the pad which will stop me getting into the corners of all the surfaces that turn in on themselves. Where as cars all the surfaces turn away from themselves (well most). To be fair I never use the free spin mode, I only use forced roation when machine waxing on gelcoat to give more power.

I watched your video a few times back and thank you. However, it hasn’t answered my question. I wanted a comparison of the two from your thumbnail. Polish and Wax vs Ceramic Spray Wax. Contemplating whether I should just do the polish/wax and be done or go ahead and use both
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
You wouldn’t normally place a polish and wax head to head as they serve different purposes. A polish is used to remove things like minor swirls, light oxidation, light water spots and restore gloss and clarity to paint. A car wax or sealant is used to amplify the finish and protect it, but on its own it’s really not going to remove any light defects though it can sometimes mask them to a small degree. The best thing to do is a little test section on the paint starting with the wax, if you’re happy with the outcome then that’s all that matters. But if you’re not happy, give the polish a go as if the paint has minor defects(as most cars do) it may help improve the finish even more so than just using the wax.

Unrelated question, but is it necessary to use a "car dedicated" APC instead of a store bought multi surface cleaner, or even a degreaser? it's a lot more economical to get something like megs super degreaser and dilute it 1 : 3 to clean wheels, or dilute it to 1 : 20 to clean the interior trim and leather. And what about using laundry detergent/dish soap for the interior? (diluted ofc)
@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Well Meguiars APC and Degreaser are car dedicated cleaners and they both work well and are very economical, so yes you can use them at various dilution ratios depending on the surface you’re addressing. I’m personally not a fan of laundry detergent for car interiors as I find it’s residue difficult to remove and it really needs to be flushed out which requires the use of excess water, but that’s just my experience with it.

Apex detail did a review on this wax and said it was fantastic to use by da, gave plenty of buffing time ? Did you shake the bottle ?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Lol yes I did shake the bottle, it wasn’t my first rodeo and I did many test before the video. As mentioned in the video, different people have different experiences and also different opinions based on that experience- I was just sharing mine that I hope was useful to some.

Does anyone know if it is safe to use Ceramic Polish and Wax on Paint protection film. I am thinking to 1) Ceramic Polish and Wax then 2) Hybrid Solution Ceramic Spray Thanks
@CarCraftAutoDetailing2 жыл бұрын
You can generally use a light polish on PPF to help remove any light oxidation, swirls or baked on traffic film and the spray should also be fine.

Quick question, so I polish, then use turtle wax spray for example and then wax? (I have turtle wax carnauba)
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Always polish first, but there’s no absolute rules as to which wax you want to use first or second.
@Defender2473 жыл бұрын
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing but should I use both carnauba wax and this ceramic wax?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing3 жыл бұрын
It’s really up to you. Maybe just start with the spray wax and you can always add some Carnauba wax down the track.

The issue you experienced when machine polishing is down to using significantly too much product. The amount you applied would have been sufficient for that entire panel ime. HTH
@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 жыл бұрын
It was a couple of small drops on a completely dry pad, so no it wasn’t too much, and my results aren’t based on the one or two panels you see, they are based on a larger number of tests using a variety of paints, pads, machines and techniques as I mention in the video and as I do with all products I review.

Hello, does this product provide UV protection on the paint? Thank you!

All all paint protections products offer some level of UV protection, exactly how much these will I’m not entirely sure.

Can we just use turtle ceramic wax and polish or we need to top up with spray coating again, if the car is new with no paint imperfection can we just use spray coating alone?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing4 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use the polish and wax alone if you wish and you can even use the spray coating on its own

No, as mentioned I used various techniques and speeds during my prior testing (the video is just one example) and it simply did not perform or behave well in machine polishing for me, but if it performs well for you that’s great 🙂

Activate its shine polymers that is hilarious... Turtle Wax seems to have some good products but their marketing needs some work to say the least.

I agree with the long naming is confusing. I have seen tw very active on Facebook Q&A with their lead chemist. They are definetly active in their social media comments so I'd say that "marketing" vs consumer relations is very impressive. Excellent video as always.

That is good that they are talking with customers. I am mainly thinking the way the products are advertised and their labels.

I Don't get why would you apply ceramic spray on top of ceramic wax ..... This procedure will reduce durability of ceramic spray, from up to 12m , to probably up to 2 months. Ceramic wax alone is still not known how long it will last...... So I am not playing that game. 2 coats of Ceramic spray alone according to some detailers should last around 8 months, with 2 hours between coats. Waiting 24 hours after applying ceramic wax to apply ceramic spray is very inconvenient . Too long basically when you are making money detailing. Ceramic spray alone , then 2 hours later =same day another layer of it sounds way better. My only concern is if ceramic spray fills imperfections considerably less than ceramic wax. If ceramic spray fills just a little less then I suppose there is no point in using ceramic wax at all.
