The Annual Von Hügel Lecture: 'Pope Francis' Revolution of Mercy: Amoris Laetitia as a New Paradigm of Catholicity' by HE Cardinal Blase Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago

Cardinal Blase J. Cupich is a native of Omaha, Nebraska, and was the personal choice of Pope Francis to succeed Francis Cardinal George OMI as Archbishop of Chicago in September 2014. He was previously bishop of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Spokane, Washington. He is a member of the Vatican Congregations for Bishops and Catholic Education. He completed his studies at the Catholic University of America in Washington with a doctorate in sacramental theology. He was elevated to the College of Cardinals on 19 November 2016. He was a prominent voice at the 2015 Synod on the Family which informed Pope Francis’ exhortation, Amoris Laetitia.
