Cardiovascular Health and Prostate Cancer with Dr. Darryl Leong

This video is a recording of Prostate Cancer Foundation Canada's January 2024 Coast to Coast Support Group meeting held over Zoom.
Dr. Leong is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at McMaster University. He is the Director of the McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences Cardio-Oncology Program. Dr. Leong completed his cardiology training, Doctor of Philosophy, Master of Public Health, and Master of Biostatistics degrees at the University of Adelaide, Australia. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at the Leiden University Medical Centre in the Netherlands before re-locating to Canada.

I just bailed on my 3rd ADT shot (6 mo shot) when I dug into the cardio risks after 12 mo's .... mid risk gleason 7 (4+3) 28 rad treatments .... my Oncologist never pointed out this risk, but pushed for 18 mo's (eliguard shot is 3K

I would think the risk of not taking ADT is much bigger… the cardio side effects can be managed…
