This is such a shame. The game looks really cool, and it's sad to see such an amazing concept wasted.

I bought Cardlife before it was even on Steam, and thought it was really really cool. It obviously has a very unique style which I loved. Its really sad that its not getting any more love like it deserves

Jan 21 2021: "Today we wanted to announce that sadly, we will be retiring Gamecraft" "sadly the sales of the game have been extremely low. We had hoped that during Early Access the sales would have been able to sustain the development to 1.0, But Gamecraft does not seem to have struck a chord with the Steam audience." Oh also, back to CardLife... Folks that bought the founders pack are still findin they cant redeem it on steam 9,9 The CardLife community has been putting out mod patches that get updated to address the various bugs that the game has. Which just shows how much there is a community here who wud love to see this game developed...

Hey thanks for sharing that! I just searched for Gamecraft on Steam and its not even visible. I take this as a win for us or anyone interested early access and Cardlife. Its good to see them admit some defeat on the project, and then pull it. Perhaps they can return to developing Cardlife and give it the attention it deserves. But will that be enough?
@SylviaRustyFae2 жыл бұрын
@@earlyaccesscontrol5966 I fully agree that this was indeed a win for us, but i somehow doubt that Freejam are gonna come back to CardLife no matter the push from fans. Their latest project/scam/racket is called Techblox

very unfortunate! i really wanted to play it. With voxel type games like Teardown being released lately it's the perfect time to start development back into Cardlife or atleast sell the I.P to a company that will develope such an awesome concept.

This is one of those things, like CubeWorld(?) , that I think is a really interesting concept, one I would love to take over as one of my first games to make, as I think that original aesthetic would work really well in a sort of survival/(MMO)RPG kind of game that I am trying to make. Games like these show a good amount of potential, I could think of some systems that would spice things up so well, imagine a rock-paper-scissors kind of system where you need to have different gear to progress through resource gathering. Anyways, this turned into a rambling comment... I just remembered this game and find it such a shame that it got abandoned. Looked for the devs on steam, their gamecraft idea I can't find and apparantly they made robocraft which was a fun thing a few years ago.

It wont have added content to it, having it in early access means potential buyers understand its not a completed game so its their choice to buy it....f the community was so amazing the game would have had enough support for the developers to put in time n effort, gamers have become so greedy, self righteous, and have ruined gaming. This guy sounds salty that he purchased a early access game got hours upon hours of content playing n the devs decided not to finish, add more to it n hes annoyed.
@earlyaccesscontrol59664 жыл бұрын
@@jamgooandyou Hey! Thanks for the comment. Well from my perspective a gamer that purchases an early access game that gets abandoned has a pretty concrete reason to be salty especially if there is no good reason for the abandonment. If a developer promises features or updates in early access and players buy the game because of this - and then the developer just quits working on the game well then that is a bit of 'false advertising'. Sure its buyer beware to an extent, but then this is also fraudulent to an extent. No one is greedy or self righteous for wanting what they paid for. The bottom line in every video is SAYING NOTHING TO YOUR COMMUNITY = BAD!

Also the game runs horribly and I'm miles above the minimum requirements. Great video man, wish i wouldve seen this before buying lol

I appreciate the review on a niche game but I disagree on some things. The game is "finished" in that it's on 1.0, yes the developers promised/implied features that haven't been added but the game does have alot of potential to compete with dare I say Minecraft, and even at full price of 20$ I felt I got my entertainments worth out of it. The developers put time into making it and learning things to use in the future, and need to make up for the lost time. Now if the other game they made however ends up being a clone somehow with just a different name I will concede to your review entirely.

Also, the community in the game is super friendly and supportive. :-) (I hope I didn't jinx it by saying that in a public post)
