Hi, Dr. I have three years residency in gynecology in Russia. Also Ph.D. And IVF specialization with 10 years experience. There are some questions: 1) is this the preferred path if you want to start working immediately in your specialty? 2) what will be the result at the end of this path? Will I get a permanent specialist license? Thank you for your attention
@CareerDoctor Жыл бұрын
Hello, Konstantin my rule is one question at a time. To answer number 1. The specialist pathway is the pathway "if you want to start working immediately in your specialty".

Thank you for video. I wanted to asked in process of SIMG , applicant can apply for area of need and specialist. Area of need , any interview after preliminary assessment ? SIMG Specialist pathway leads to comparable or non comparable - depends on that it leads to fellowship. But if interview and comparable then applicant will go directly for Job. If non-comparable , is he able to apply for area of need ?
@CareerDoctor Жыл бұрын
Sorry your question is quite confusing. If you are found not comparable then you won’t be able to apply for a specialist Area of Need Post.
@aarav3836 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for reply . Area of need application fees 2310 AUD and specialist application fees 850 AUD. Process is same as I understand both have to under go interview - on basis of interview will get outcome comparable or no comparable. My question is Why this area of need have high fees for application ? Is there high possibility get comparable if apply in area of need. Moreover , it’s near to impossible get job without comparability, What’s your advise ?

1. Area of Need is a rarity these days. 2. It’s a similar assessment process. Same standards. 3. For Area of Need they are also assessing the post.

I'm also a little confused about who actually has to do the PESCI. I believed all AON IMG's GP's have to follow the Specialist Pathway. Therefore, does that mean (as long as the meet the 3 year GP work experience requirement) that the DONT have to sit for the PESCI??
@CareerDoctor7 ай бұрын
The requirements for who needs to do a PESCI are a bit confusing. If you are eligible for the GP version of the Specialist Pathway then you generally do not need to do a PESCI. The PESCI is normally if you have the AMC Part 1, GP experience and are applying to work under supervision in general practice (but not eligible for the Specialist Pathway).
