Women in Tech: Advice on How to Career Change

Awesome convo, y’all! Thanks so much for the timely confidence boost from a group of smart, strong, successful women right when I needed this most. The imposter syndrome is real for women in male-dominated industries. Even with degrees, certificates, and sometimes even with all that plus decades of experience. Every day I acknowledge that my fear of failure and self-doubt are both real, and that they belie both my demonstrated ability and my potential. The acknowledgement of the presence of fear (in whatever small amount) is humbling, and the recognition of the illusion motivates me to keep going and keep growing. As cliche as it may sound, we can’t win if we don’t try and fail. Failures are our growth opportunities. Solidarity! ❤️

This was such a meaningful conversation that boosted my drive to continue studying and exploring tech roles but also lifted my spirits. I could relate to each speaker in so many different ways. It has really given the insight I was looking for and I regret not being able to attend live. Being someone with an educational background in digital art and interdisciplinary studies I felt like I had the soft skills and was working on refining my skills in design thinking, prototyping, etc (new UX designer here!). I wonder if it would be okay to reach out to this amazing group of ladies on LinkedIn to start building this essential network. :) Thanks for all of your time and valued inspiration. Cheers!
