Real estate agents do not have a good work-life balance, rarely any days off, always having your phone on you so you can answer clients, always looking for clients. Work life balance is the balance between your work and your non-work. Just because you enjoy doing your work doesn't mean it has good work-life balance

I am in information technology specifically a software developer and it’s not always about work life balance. If client and company wants project earlier, you need to do work for long hours and on weekends. People in information technology can feel burned out pretty early. Working infront of the screen, sitting for long hours, using brain at its max, anxiety of the deadlines come with a lot of health issues as well so yes it’s not a great work life balance option.

I multi task constantly . I make batches in 3 different tanks . Unload into tanker trucks , receive raw materials from tanker trucks., load tankers and move rail cars in and out of the plant. I think this video has confused the term work-life balance, or maybe my concept is different. Work-life balance is working your full hours (8 hours per day) and leaving work at the office and enjoying yourself at home. It is also a job that respects your weekends and has a good number of PTO (one month or more, holidays and sick days are separate.) Working a couple of hours and not doing anything until completing your schedule for the day isn't work-life balance, but a form of underemployment. And, as far as I know, this style of work is detrimental to the employee because they feel that they are not using their full potential and they ended up getting bored and leaving.

I see what ur saying, but as someone who is burnt out as hell from busting my buns nonstop to get a quarter raise per year at various jobs and being sooo underappreciated, I feel like this is work-life balance for me. 😅 I just want to show up, get what I need to get done, finished, and then chill out... Rather than being extremely stressed out, trying to accomplish 1,000 tasks at once for 8 hours, and then go home stressed out and carry that stress with me to my family. All this getting me no where I want to be financially and earning butt loads of money for someone else higher up than me.

I really think that all of those characteristics you talked about are more dependent on the employer and company culture. For example, I have worked in digital marketing and got burnt out so quickly because the workload was unmanageable and the company did not respect boundaries which led to zero work-life balance. This is why I always make sure to read glassdoor reviews before applying anywhere.

The biggest thing is network for govt jobs. If you know someone in the department or have prior military experience you have a huge foot in the door. If your coming in as a civilian with no military family of ANY kind you have lower priority. It sounds unfair until you remember certain jobs with requirements for secrecy or security, specifically when it comes to family financial stability, frequently attracts those who would not or did not have job prospects at all before joining the military and may struggle on the exit side of military life. I know more people got in because they had very little direction and no familial connection that left or were discharged as N.C.Os for various reasons. (Meaning they have no college degree) The V.A tends to pull priority of service members because they know what it's like to have no skills at exit that you can take street side. Frequently civilian or honorably discharged service members had such bad times after getting out that once they need to go job hunting they're willing to go anywhere for the right benefits. The biggest mentality difference is a civilian sees crap and complains about the way it's run or cultured and the other guy won't complain. Not to say that is a good thing but if you don't have good interpersonal skills, while a certain number or brow nosers and nurse Krattchett's will make it in, most don't go very far. Horrible bosses are horrible bosses and if you can play your cards right you can either transfer OR find a reasonable way to get the guy/gal moved, or stuck in their particular job. While some people are fantastic liars and horrible bosses, most of the time they get caught out and you can usually tell who they are because their department leaks personal like a seive. The biggest lie the military tells is that getting a college degree should be the payment for service when, if they acts wanted to maximize people's employability they would work college level trade skills and degrees into service asa baseline. Technically, they kinda sorta do but it can be hard if your job title doesn't or can't correlate to something in civilian terms like radio technician or engineer. The military tends to make generalists which while good for a man on a mission, doesn't tailor them enough for specific job fields.

Glad you didn't persuse it there is a lot of people in digital marketing first i thought it will be high paying relaxing etc etc and yes it's easy and relaxing but you are not making a lot of money and with freelancers ready to offer their services at low cost companies also tend to pay you less to be honest I was working as digital marketer over 1 year it's get boring after the year the only thing you do is to bring followers views that's kind of shit to be honest there is also other domain ppc SEO and etc but to be honest it's not going to pay you well and you will going to work for small business owners who doesn't have any professionalism and you might loose your job at any point to be honest I left the industry because digital marketing nowadays anybody can do it therefore focus on these fields tech, finance, accounting these 3 fileds has the scope to provide you good money and if you want work life balance work at a grocery store it's better there I am not kidding i actually worked in them I was making much as money equal to digital marketing btw good luck for your future

Hi Shane. I would love to see a video about studying architecture as well as the pros and cons of it 😆
@christinecorrrea5402
@christinecorrrea5402 Жыл бұрын
I take architecture In community College. An easy synopsis Pros: 1.Practice and exercise your Design Skills 2. Learn to read conscruction plans and how to draft and read your way through buildings 3. Probably get a decent paying entry level job compared to not having an associate's at all like a draftsman. Cons 1. If you wanna be an architect, you cant avoid a bachelor's at least. 2. Tons of classwork, not neccessarily hard, just a lot of work, which seems to be a recurring theme of the field in general 3. If you plan to be in the construction industry at all, it's basically a crapshoot depending on where you live and if the local industry is booming or not. And if you do get a job, believe me, it's not for the flimsy, it's a lot of labor and stress. Personally, I am mostly there learning because I want to practice my design skills and I also have been working in construction as an apprentice for a bit now and just want to expand my working knowledge. Skilled labor is the only way for money, and cushy office jobs are tough to obtain but probably well worth it. For me, I'm thinking more of currently learning digital marketing to use my design skills and have a real job in hand like Shane said, but I will say that Even in the single year I have worked in construction, I have learned plenty of useful knowledge for my own life and collected plenty of useful tools for home repair. As far as your own business goes, you need some big boy equipment that's pretty expensive and likely certs to operate (skilled labor again) them. Bonus (could be good or bad depending on you) 4. Politics politics politics Everything in architecture is politics, trust me, you'll realize fast. Little guys dont make skyscrapers. Big money interests, unions, politicians, media consensus, zoning, immigration, workers rights, taxes, the list goes on forever. So if you dont like politics, stay far away cuz it cant be avoided. Oh and as far as craftsmanship goes, most of that is dying, no money there except on your own, everything where the money is, is about automation all day. Yup, automate everything top to bottom. Makes work easier for the cushy jobs but if you plan to be low skilled Labor, dont plan to get a chance to retire in this day and age. Anything that doesnt require knowledge is going and fast I suspect, ( think most of it gone by like 2050). Climate change and automation are front and center in construction (3D printed houses, DUSTY the surveyor robot) just look it up. Basically, just in general, I would suggest learning something that makes you hard to replace, and going the distance with your education. In skills in school, outside in a job, online, just learn learn learn because just being able to work a drill or do something basic is essentially going make you obsolete in the long run. Hope this helps genuinely and makes things clear. I try my best to work smart and help others by staying real about it.

He won't exactly be the most suited for that. MPH is usually a degree taken by doctors after their MD degree when they want to be involved in public health. Edit: of course the minimum is a health related degree like in vetrenary, nursing, or biomedical engineering. But that closes off quite a few possibilites, too.

My advice is there is not much money in it without specific undergraduate degrees and experiences. Go to New Mexico and you're lucky to break 60k for a Master's. New York you get more money but, in exchange for a high cost of living. In general compassionate careers and administrative policy work tends to be extremely hit or miss without the right experience and you will have to be a master at interviewing OR at organizing finances and records in a specific way, alongside in depth knowledge of medicine as a whole. One of the few pub. Health admins I do know was (and quite frankly still is) a burned out family medicine doctor who got injured at work and couldn't face doing clinical work again. Before that he had been a paralegal (>2 yrs degree for him) accountant c.p.a (also less than 4 years for that one while passing exams) and finally an M.D, earned in the usual -12 year time frame. The Master's program didn't land him his current job until he had 2 years as an attache to the office (2 years) and had continued working as a billing consultant for major insurance companies and a consultant in personal injury claims for a law firm per diem. If you only have the degree you're chances for being picked are slim to none unless you work in a chronically overworked, underfunded state. You take work home with you all the time, hence why people leave. The friend still works per diem cases as he doesn't want to count on public health money with a conservative government gaining ground (ie budget cuts making his position redundant. He's in the middle so far as management goes so he's on the chopping block if the government decides to downsize.)
