Thanks very much for this informative video regarding the pairing of the wind sensor. I fixed mine myself, and saved me a warranty service trip to the dealer, avoiding a 150 mile round trip and a frustrating day spent at the dealership. I still don't know why they couldn't diagnose and fix this on the day of purchase of my 2024 Winnebago View 24D. I followed your instructions, and it works perfectly now!

Great information, this is helpful. I will make the attempt to connect my phone. I took it to the dealer for a recall and they said they were not able to connect my phone. So I left it only. Now I will try to connect.

Thanks for the video. I have a Carefree Evolution on a WB Navion and I’ve talked to Carefree multiple times and over time they have even sent me two new sensors and a new BT module. The sensors pair and work for a while but eventually won’t pair anymore, usually after a few battery changes. The only thing that seemed to work is placing a switch on the BT module’s power cable to fully shut off power (Carefree’s on/off switch does not fully cut power to the BTmodule) and force a complete power reboot. That power reboot seems to get the BT module pair to the wind sensor. I did not know about the 10 second retract reset though that made no difference in not being able to pair. I’m just going to ditch the wind sensor since it’s been so unreliable…..and when it did work the batteries (used new Duracell) never seemed to last that long, maybe 4-6 weeks.

Very helpful. Mine did not work from the day I picked up my van. Took to the dealer and the technician could not/did not know how to fix it. I fixed it my self after watching this. It was the 17mm bolt that was loose and the two rubber bushings. I should go and show this video to the technician.

Great video. It helped with one of my issues with the motion sensor, the problem I have now is that that it stops about 3 inches out. The manual adjustment screw does not work, well it does, because if I crank it counter clockwise it sticks out further. It appears that the direct response is stopping it? Is there a way to reset that? I can crank it in manually...

I have a freestyle and the only way I can open it if I push to the on position than push extend it will come out 4” and retract if I push to the on position push extend than push off than back on again repeat I can slowly open it all the way .

We have motorized carefree side awnings we install on our campers. A few of them don't close fully on the left side by at least an inch. It will close with force but pops back out a bit despite adjustments. It seems too tight at the knuckle..any thoughts?

In FB group, I saw a lot of people mentioned that their awning extended by itself, even when fuse were already taken away. What was the problem? Is that already solved? I am afraid to by a class b with carefree awning.

You’re likely referring to the Carefree awning that came on the Revel. There was a recall that addressed that issue. It’s my understanding that the Jayco Terrain and Entegra Launch use a different Carefree model. I’m not aware of any Terrain or Launch owners having that problem.

I know that there was a recall on the model that comes with the Winnebago Revel and since that recall I haven’t seen any Facebook posts from Revel owners but I did just recently see a post from a Thor Tranquility owner. There’s several companies that manufacture awnings for class b vans so you have options.

Man perfect video as my Carefree awning doesn’t extend on my new Jayco Terrain 19Y. The motor just runs for about 30 seconds. Any ideas on how to get it to extend?

Have you tried giving it a couple of good slaps while the motor is running? It might just be stuck. After my visit to Carefree and having them dial mine in perfectly, I now have to slap mine once or twice to get it to extend. If you are able to get it out, check the bumpers to see if they are in the proper position.

I have a 2017 Roadtrek 190 Popular with a carefree awning. It won't hold the adjustment when I try to close it. I tighten the lower 4mm hex screw under the rear cover to close it but then I crank the awning out several times and it'll stop short of closing again so I have to tighten the screw again. Kind of a pain.

My awning on my Launch is sticking. It opens after prying it with my fingers and will operate normally. Once the van sits for awhile it will stick again. Not sure if I need to make some adjustments.

In the video at the 6 minute mark, they talk about bumpers that tend to move. Have you checked the positioning of yours?

@@terrain4x4adventuresI went to open my awning today after been shut for awhile and it almost unraveled itself. Fortunately I stopped it just in time but had to take care of a sag which I did. However when I try retract it now it goes until about 2 feet and stops. If I try open it, I have to stop it because it will unravel itself. I’ve tried to adjust the screws but nothing. Can you ask what the fix is for this? Thanks.

Half of this video is out of focus and many times the cameraperson doesn't have the point of discussion in the field of view. They don't tell you which way is up on the adjustment screw. Poor video.
