What a great way to add elements that are hard/impossible to achieve using traditional fluid painting techniques. Thank you for opening this door to lots of new possibilities! The wheels are turning and turning....

I really enjoy your humble methodical way of painting. I also enjoy that you are not afraid to recommend and recognize other artists and their videos. It is a cross-pollination of ideas. Good work and yes Cheadle is a great one to look at.

Love these three works of art, especially the one you embellished. You're not the only one who likes the Konker paint markers, Caren. They have 21 reviews with a perfect 5-star rating on Amazon! I added them to my ever-growing wish list.

Thankyou so much for showing us yet another way to have fun with acrylic paints Caren! Your enthusiasm is contagious for sure! I like dabbling in aboriginal dot painting so this will be great fun indeed! Yes Rick Cheadle's piece is beautiful!! I think our cavemen/women ancestors would have liked this !!
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
I love petroglyphs and cave art. A lot of my non-pour paintings of the last ten years has been inspired by cave paintings.

I thought there was a touch of primitive shape and symbolism in some of them Caren! Hopi? Love it! Your buffalo especially are awesome!

Oh! Finally!!! I found this video by chance but you don't know how long I've been looking for the solution to make precise "tweaks" on the painting. With the brushes I've ruined many pouring. I didn't know that there were acrylic markers. Thank you!!! As always, you're an inexhaustible source of precious advice!

Carmen, thanks for the demo with the Konger acrylic paint markers. I had no idea they even existed! Totally awesome what can be done. I have watched a lot of Rick Cheadle. His works are always great. He doesn't always embellish but sometimes he just goes all out. They turn into a sort of psychodelic look. He is one of my favs. Sort of a quirky guy...in an awesome way. 😎😎😎

You forgot to add the link to Minwax. I just saw Rick's video this morning. He does great work in general, but the finishing touches are fantastic. He can make each attempt with a pour, a great end product....perhaps we all can. This was the first time I had seen him work and was very impressed. You did a great presentation; demonstrating just how each of us can repair, enhance, and embellish our work. I think the markers are a great idea, but for anyone that does not want to make this investment at this time, you can get out a detailing paint brush with your paint to accomplish the same results. Thank you for sharing new ideas and new products that we may want to explore. Great job!

Monica Eggleton thanks Monica I knew I forgot something. Yes the main thing with this video is to demonstrate the techniques, whether you use pens or brushes. I can't wait to do more.

That's a great idea Caren. I also use UNI POSCA acrylic pens you can get them in varying thickness's I love the thin one (PC-1MR). Great for signing your work with. Thanks for the slow drying idea, but am still getting crazing and wonder do you use a pouring medium in your titanium white or other base colours or is it straight paint? Thanks for your lovely works have a great day
@carengoodrich4 жыл бұрын
Jenny C I use pouring medium in all colors, it makes all the difference. I now have my own line of Paint Ready To Pour called Happy Medium. It has everything in it to do successful pours without mixing and measuring. Just pour. It’s only at www.happymedium.fun

I'm going to have to get those markers. I've used a few others and they dried out quickly or the ends mashed and I couldn't replace so let's give these a go. This would be fun to do in a workshop - let people's imaginations go wild.

Another idea which might help others is I sprayed some adhesive spray over some of my 'crazings' and sprinkled with glitters then sealed it, its an awesome way to make something mediocre look stunning...of course you don't need that with your works of art, some of us need help ha ha have a lovely day.

I'm new at this type of art. What do you consider dirty pour?
@NorCalArtist7 жыл бұрын
I've just completed my first two "pour" paintings and I'm really happy with the outcome. My next question is - how long do these paintings take to dry or "cure"? Mine seem to be taking several days. I did a 50/50 combo of paint and flotrol along with a few drops of silicon. Thanks
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Tim Woodson don't hurry the drying, let it sit for several days. Takes 1-3 days depending on climate and how thick your pour is.
@sushanart7 жыл бұрын
Interesting! Did you find it easier to do this with the pens than doing the samt thing with brushes?
@carengoodrich7 жыл бұрын
Susan Art I like the portability and better control of the pens but obviously brushes are an option.
@Snake-snek7 жыл бұрын
Awesome ! Your art is so nice to look at and good tips too ! Thank you , can´t wait to try! Do you know anything that would make me get away with cheaper paint or any kind of paint that would be dilutable in more water so you don´t have to use to much.. or idk , I´m having a hard time getting my hands on enough paint to spill it all over .XD

Caren Goodrich Hi Caren, I loved your video! I have been thinking about adding or modifying a Pour after it is dried but before varnishing. Can you modify after varnishing as well? I love the idea about the Konker paint markers that you recommended but they are not available anywhere. Do you have another set of paint markers? I really enjoy watching you and your work is beautiful!

I have oil based pens. Following a general rule I learned that you can go over acrylic paint with oil paint, does the same rule apply with using oil based pens on these acrylic pours? thanks again for a great video. Teresa

Have you ever used or heard of Krink acrylic markers? They sell them online at Michaels website

Maggie Hunkele yes I used them a few years ago and didn't like them. The paint came out in blobs when I least expected it.
@DrummerGrrrl7 жыл бұрын
Caren, if the box doesn't already say it, store those markers horizontally, otherwise the tip dries out and the paint kind of gums up, inside the marker.
