Kicking off from AUD$27,990 (US$17,800), the Qashqai ST comes with a six-speed manual transmission, with an automatic gearbox a $2000 proposition thereafter. The range runs all the way through to the car we’re testing here, the top-specification Qashqai Ti, which is priced at $38,490 (US$25,000) and comes exclusively with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

I love my 2019 Qashqai!!!! The suspension is excellent, I have 19 inch rims, with low profile Pro-Pilot Michelin tyres and the engine is very powerful and responsive. My model is 4 wheel drive and tuned at 136 dhp. Mine did not come with the touch screen infortainment system, but I upgraded it to 10 inch touch screen and with the Bose speakers it has excellent sound. I also installed an automatic trunk lift. Highly recommended SUV!!!

Good review Paul. Exterior and interior look appealing but I think a 1.6T engine would be ideal. Also, it’s disappointing to note most mainstream small and medium SUVs sold in Australia do not have rear air vents.
@CarExpertAus4 жыл бұрын
The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine would be sensational in this car. It would make up for the slight shortfall in torque - with a softer suspension tune it'd be hard to beat in this segment. Also agree - air vents are so simple!

Do you check the Tyre pressure when you collect these vehicles? After the Mazda 2 video you said it was still too firm. I know every time I get my car back from the dealer I have to let some air out, they always pump them up way too much.

Great point, Adam! Yes, a tyre pressure tool is in my kit of things. We normally run these cars at the recommended pressures. Any less or higher could cause accelerated tyre degredation.

Whilst I can't say I'm particularly riveted about the Qashqai, there's still plenty to like about it - handsome exterior (great colour), well equipped, and the clever 'where am I' feature. Think when this gen was released in 2015, the ride was tuned for 16-18” wheels. 19” obviously a step too far and ruins the ride. Assume the new gen will have to be be tuned for 18-20” as customers insist on ever bigger wheels...

What I don't understand is, why on a earth car makers make so many models of similar cars? For example Nissan Qashqai, Dualis, X-Trail, Honda HR-V, CR-V. If that's not confusing enough, they also make multiple badges, for example Qashqai ST, ST-L, ST+, Ti. Why???

Hi. Thanks for your perfect review. I think Qashqai is a Persian word and it's related to a custom. you should check en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qashqai_people. Qashqai is a common word in Persian and has a beautiful meaning. It is like that, in Persian we pronounce your name: "Pool" or "Poul". I would like to say, "Nissan" and "Mazda" are both Persian word with greate meanings.

Never buy a Nissan Qashqai timing chain issues and after that new engines are needed. Appalling air conditioning new condenser needed every two years. Parking sensors fill with water when it rains and it thinks your parking when you drive Nissans answer was to drill holes in the bumper to stop the water ingress. Watch out for the warning signs oil consumption that’s the start of your Nissan journey enjoy 😉 PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. Sorry Nissan but you need to honour the people who bought the faulty cars you produced with Renault building the engines and fitting the piston rings incorrectly. If at least one person reads this and it stops them buying one I am a happy man.

Update my car has been in the dealership for 4 months. I have all the paperwork service and diagnostic reports etc etc to support my car engine was faulty before the point of purchase. The dealership, Nissan customer care & Nissan finance agree that the engine was indeed faulty before I bought the car. At the moment the dealership have to perform certain diagnostics on the engine to find out where the noise is coming from as the warranty company need this before they will sign off a new one. If you type 2014 Nissan Qashqai engine fault in a search engine take a look at the results I have no words. I payed for an extended service plan after the complimentary ones ran out. In this service plan it says that I get a courtesy car while the car is being serviced I have had no car for 4 months. The only thing stopping me from going directly to a solicitor is the lady at Nissan customer care she is an absolute credit to them. I honestly believe she is trying to help. So much red tape to get them to finally admit this known fault £19500 for a car that needs a new engine 3 years into a 4 year + finance package. I WILL not give up this fight. If you read this please like this post to help my plight. I have heard there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Watch this space fingers crossed 🤞
